Product Overview
The Atlas Sound M1000 is an 8-inch dual cone sound masking speaker assembly designed for plenum-space deployment in commercial sound masking and speech privacy systems. It includes a 70.7V transformer with an external tap selector switch, a 734 cubic inch black square enclosure, and factory-installed EZ hang brackets that support upward, downward, or horizontal installation orientations. UL 1480 and UL 2043 listed, the M1000 is approved for use in air-handling (plenum) spaces and is the standard enclosure model in the Atlas Sound masking speaker line.
Product Description
The M1000 is a pre-assembled sound masking speaker that ships ready to install, with the 8-inch dual cone driver, 70.7V transformer, enclosure, baffle, and mounting hardware all included. The 734 cubic inch square enclosure provides the low frequency extension necessary for an accurate masking signal spectrum in plenum spaces—the enclosure volume directly affects masking system performance, and the M1000 is sized to deliver extended bass response without requiring supplemental EQ in most standard masking deployments. The 70.7V transformer uses an external tap selector switch with taps at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 watts for on-site level adjustment without rewiring. The EZ hang bracket system uses two collapsible plated hangers that fold flat for shipping and deploy quickly for upward, downward, or side-firing installation to meet plenum layout requirements. The input panel includes both knockouts and strain reliefs to accommodate rigid or flexible conduit, and the removable plate supports through-wiring for daisy-chain connections. An optional 78-inch suspension chain (part MCHAIN72) is available for hanging installations with height adjustment. Note that this product requires a separate masking generator and 70.7V amplifier to operate. Black epoxy finish. A 60-month warranty is included.
