Product Overview
The Ashly NE4250.70PED is a network-enabled 4-channel power amplifier delivering 250W per channel into 70V constant-voltage distributed speaker systems, with integrated Protea Embedded DSP on all inputs and outputs and a factory-installed OPDante option card for Dante audio network connectivity. Part of the NE Series, this Dante-enabled zone amplifier is a complete one-box solution for commercial AV installations requiring 4-zone 70V distributed audio with full DSP processing and AoIP integration. With 1000W total output, standard Ethernet control, and per-channel calibrated attenuators, the NE4250.70PED addresses multi-zone paging and background music distribution in conference rooms, training rooms, and commercial spaces.
Product Description
The NE4250.70PED uses the NE Series platform with Protea Embedded DSP on all input and output channels plus the OPDante card for Dante AoIP connectivity. The amplifier delivers 4 x 250W into 70V speaker systems, well suited for commercial spaces requiring up to 4 distributed audio zones. The Dante card accepts digital audio from any Dante-enabled device on the network, eliminating analog audio runs between source equipment and amplifier locations. Protea Embedded DSP provides complete signal processing capability on every channel including equalization, dynamics, FIR filter capability, crossover, delay, and matrix routing, so no separate outboard DSP processor is required for standard installations. Standard 10/100 Ethernet connects to Ashly Protea NE software for remote configuration and monitoring, and DC voltage remote control of the input attenuators allows volume management from wall remotes. LED indicators for power, standby, protect, and network communications provide status at a glance, and each channel has a four-step signal meter plus bridge mono, temperature, and current indicators. Remote power standby and preset recall are supported via GPI and Ethernet for integration with room control systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does "PED" mean in the NE4250.70PED?
- "PED" stands for Protea Embedded DSP. The unit includes Ashly's full Protea DSP engine on all input and output channels, providing complete signal processing without external DSP hardware.
- Is the Dante card factory-installed or purchased separately?
- The OPDante card is factory-installed. The NE4250.70PED ships ready for Dante network audio deployment.
- What is the difference between the NE4250.70PED and the NE8250.70PED?
- The NE4250.70PED provides 4 amplifier channels at 250W each (1000W total), while the NE8250.70PED provides 8 channels at 250W each (2000W total). Both include Protea Embedded DSP and a Dante card.
- Does the NE4250.70PED require a separate DSP processor?
- No. Protea Embedded DSP on all inputs and outputs provides complete signal processing within the amplifier.
- How are presets triggered in the NE4250.70PED?
- Presets can be recalled via GPI contact closures, DC voltage control, or Ethernet commands from a room control system.
