Product Overview

The Ashly FX500.4 is a four-channel power amplifier with built-in Protea DSP delivering 500W per channel at 2 or 4 ohms and 70V/100V constant-voltage output, combining amplification and full signal processing in a single unit for commercial AV installations. With browser-based DSP control over Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi, the FX500.4 eliminates the need for separate rack-mount DSP processors in installations requiring four-zone amplification with comprehensive digital signal processing. It is designed for commercial installations in venues where space efficiency, network-accessible DSP, and multi-zone power amplification must coexist in a single half-rack-compatible form factor.

Product Description

Ashly FX500.4 four-channel power amplifier with DSP Protea browser-based control

The Ashly FX500.4 integrates a four-channel 500W Class D power amplifier with a comprehensive Protea DSP engine that handles 4 input channels routed to 4 output channels across zones A through D. All input and output channels carry full DSP processing including sensitivity adjustment, routing matrix, gain, parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, FIR filters, crossover, polarity inversion, and delay. The browser-based control interface requires no software installation and is accessible from any PC or mobile device via Ethernet LAN connection or the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, making the FX500.4 configurable and controllable from any location on the network. Dynamic Power Sharing enables up to 750W into a single channel at 2 ohms when the other channel is undriven, providing additional headroom for demanding zones. Two channels can also be configured for 70V/100V constant-voltage output at 1,000W per pair in bridge mode, supporting distributed speaker system installations. Digital S/PDIF inputs and outputs allow the FX500.4 to interface with digital audio sources and devices. Addressable GPIO, standby/mute, and remote VC ports support integration with third-party control systems and wall-panel volume controls, with VC assignment configurable per channel in software. Custom speaker presets can be created, saved, and loaded per output channel for consistent system performance across preset scenes. Auto/Manual Power Saver mode reduces power consumption when the system is idle. The half-rack form factor allows the FX500.4 to be hidden in non-rack installation environments using optional mounting hardware for rack or wall/surface mounting.

Key Features

  • 4 x 500W Class D Output — Each channel delivers 500W at 2 or 4 ohms; channel pairs produce 2 x 1,000W at 70V/100V in bridge mode.
  • Dynamic Power Sharing — Up to 750W available on a single channel at 2 ohms when the adjacent channel is undriven, maximizing headroom for peak demand zones.
  • 4-Input x 4-Output DSP Engine — Comprehensive Protea DSP processes all inputs and outputs with sensitivity, routing, gain, PEQ, compressor, limiter, FIR filters, crossover, polarity, and delay.
  • Browser-Based Control, No Software Required — Control interface accessible from any web browser on PC or mobile device; no application installation needed.
  • Ethernet and Built-In Wi-Fi (WAP) — Dual connectivity options for wired LAN or wireless hotspot access to DSP controls.
  • Digital S/PDIF I/O — Digital audio inputs and outputs for interfacing with digital source devices and processors.
  • Custom Speaker Presets — User-created presets saved and loaded per output channel for consistent zone performance across system configurations.
  • Addressable GPIO, Standby/Mute, and VC Ports — Programmable integration ports for control system, trigger, and wall-panel volume control connectivity.
  • Auto/Manual Power Saver Mode — Configurable sleep/standby mode reduces power consumption during idle periods.
  • Half-Rack Form Factor — Compact size supports concealed non-rack installations; optional hardware available for rack and wall/surface mounting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the FX500.4 require a separate DSP processor?
No. The FX500.4 includes a built-in Protea DSP engine with 4 input channels and 4 output channels, handling all signal processing functions including EQ, compression, limiting, crossovers, FIR filters, and delay without requiring any additional rack-mount processor.
How is the FX500.4 controlled and configured?
The FX500.4 is controlled via a browser-based interface accessible from any web browser on a PC or mobile device. No software installation is required. Connection is available via Ethernet wired LAN or the built-in Wi-Fi access point.
Can the FX500.4 drive 70V distributed speaker systems?
Yes. Channel pairs can be configured for bridge-mono operation delivering 1,000W at 70V, making the FX500.4 compatible with transformer-tapped 70V distributed speaker installations.
What is Dynamic Power Sharing?
Dynamic Power Sharing allows the FX500.4 to deliver up to 750W on a single channel at 2 ohms when the adjacent channel is not being driven, providing additional headroom for zones with peak demand loads without requiring a larger amplifier.
Can speaker presets be saved and recalled on the FX500.4?
Yes. Custom speaker presets including EQ curves, crossover settings, and processing parameters can be created, saved, and loaded per output channel via the browser interface, enabling quick system reconfiguration for different events or room setups.
Is the FX500.4 compatible with wall-panel volume controls?
Yes. The FX500.4 has addressable remote VC ports that are software-assignable per channel, supporting external wall-panel volume controls for zone-level user adjustment in commercial installations.
