Product Overview
The Ashly CA 1.54 is a four-channel Class D power amplifier delivering 1,500W per channel at 2 or 4 ohms and full-power 70V/100V constant-voltage output, making it the highest-power model in the Ashly CA series commercial installation lineup. Built on Ashly's proprietary D-MAX technology with Dynamic Power Factor Correction and SailFlow directed active cooling, the CA 1.54 provides 6,000W total output in a lightweight 2RU chassis. It is designed for large-scale commercial AV installations requiring very high power per zone, including large performance venues, houses of worship, auditoriums, and demanding distributed audio systems.
Product Description
The Ashly CA 1.54 uses D-MAX Class D amplifier technology incorporating Ashly-developed Dynamic Power Factor Correction, a high-speed switching power supply, and lossless SiC MOSFET switches that eliminate switch-off noise while reducing wasted power and heat. The result is higher sound output at lower current draw compared to conventional Class D designs, with the amplifier drawing only what the wall outlet delivers without risk of breaker trips under normal operating conditions. The CA 1.54 operates stably into 2 ohm loads, making it suitable for driving low-impedance speaker systems including line arrays and high-output installation speakers. All four channels also support 70V and 100V constant-voltage operation for distributed speaker system applications, enabling the same amplifier to serve both low-Z and constant-voltage zones in a mixed installation. Each channel is equipped with a switchable 80Hz HPF, a limiter, and per-channel gain adjustment accessible from the front panel. Balanced input connections use Euroblock and XLR combo connectors for flexible wiring. The solid metal front panel houses input level controls with a lockout switch, and a remote standby port with switchable polarity allows integration with building control systems. Remote VC ports on each channel support external wall-panel volume control. SailFlow directed active air management maximizes airflow to the highest heat-generating areas of the chassis, keeping operating temperatures low under sustained high-output commercial use. At 2RU, the CA 1.54 fits standard installation racks alongside DSP processors and signal distribution equipment.
Key Features
- 4 x 1,500W Class D Output — Each channel delivers 1,500W at 2 or 4 ohms for a total of 6,000W, supporting high-power commercial speaker installations.
- Stable 2 Ohm Operation — Reliable operation into 2 ohm loads enables connection of multiple low-impedance speakers per channel or demanding line array systems.
- 70V/100V Constant-Voltage Capable — All four channels drive 70V and 100V distributed audio systems, supporting transformer-tapped speaker installations.
- D-MAX Technology with Dynamic Power Factor Correction — Ashly-developed switching amplifier design with SiC MOSFET switches provides high efficiency and eliminates switch-off noise.
- SailFlow Directed Active Air Management — Directed fan cooling targets heat to the chassis areas that need it most, maintaining cool operation under high sustained output.
- Switchable 80Hz HPF, Limiter, and Gain Per Channel — Per-channel protection and level controls optimize system performance and protect speaker drivers.
- Balanced Euroblock and XLR Combo Inputs — Flexible input connections accommodate both professional balanced signals and standard XLR cabling.
- Front-Panel Level Controls with Lock — Input level adjustments accessible from the front panel with a lockout switch to prevent unauthorized changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the rated power output of the CA 1.54 per channel?
- The CA 1.54 delivers 1,500W per channel at 2 or 4 ohms, and 750W per channel at 8 ohms, for a total system output of 6,000W across four channels at 2/4 ohms.
- Can the CA 1.54 drive 70V distributed speaker systems?
- Yes. All four channels of the CA 1.54 support 70V and 100V constant-voltage operation, making it compatible with transformer-tapped distributed audio speaker systems.
- Is the CA 1.54 stable into 2 ohm loads?
- Yes. The CA 1.54 is rated for stable operation into 2 ohm loads, allowing multiple low-impedance speakers to be wired in parallel per channel where higher zone coverage is needed.
- What is D-MAX technology?
- D-MAX is Ashly's proprietary Class D amplifier technology incorporating Dynamic Power Factor Correction, a high-speed switching power supply, and lossless SiC MOSFET switches. It provides higher output efficiency, lower heat generation, and reduced switch-off noise compared to conventional Class D designs.
- Does the CA 1.54 include DSP processing?
- The CA 1.54 includes per-channel switchable 80Hz HPF and limiter for basic speaker protection, but does not include full onboard DSP. External DSP processors such as the Ashly AQZ32 can be added upstream for complete equalization and system processing.
