Product Overview
The Allied Telesis AT-PC200/SC-960 is an Allied Telesis PoE+ fiber media converter TAA compliant model that converts 10/100TX copper to 100FX multimode fiber over an SC connector. Designed for enterprise and government network deployments, this TAA-compliant converter extends Power over Ethernet Plus (IEEE 802.3at) to remote devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones located more than 100 meters from the nearest PoE switch. Included universal AC power supply supports US, UK, AU, and EU power configurations without requiring separate adapters. The PC200/SC-960 is ideal for building-to-building fiber extension with remote PoE device powering and fiber media conversion in a single compact unit.
Product Description
The Allied Telesis PC200/SC-960 extends the reach of PoE+ infrastructure by converting 10/100Base-TX copper (RJ-45) to 100Base-FX multimode fiber (SC connector), simultaneously delivering up to 30W of IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power to a remote powered device over the copper segment. This makes it the ideal solution when IP cameras, wireless access points, or IP phones must be deployed more than 100 meters from the nearest PoE-capable switch. The fiber link supports distances up to 2 kilometers (approximately 1.24 miles) over 50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm multimode fiber at 850 nm, enabling building-to-building connectivity with remote device power delivery. The Smart MissingLink (SML) feature continuously monitors both network segments and propagates link failures end-to-end, allowing network operations teams to rapidly identify failed segments rather than diagnosing one port at a time. Remote Power Cycle capability allows a network administrator to reset a remote PoE+ device by disabling the upstream switch port connected to the PC200 — the loss of the fiber link causes the copper PoE+ port to cycle power, rebooting the remote device without a physical site visit. The converter is fully compatible with IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagged frames (jumbo frames up to 10KB), ensuring compatibility with modern 802.1Q-enabled switches. A 4K MAC address table and store-and-forward switching mode provide reliable frame handling for enterprise traffic. The universal multi-region AC power supply included in the package accepts US, UK, Australian, and EU plug configurations, simplifying global deployments.
Key Features
- IEEE 802.3at PoE+ Compliant — Delivers up to 30W of Power over Ethernet Plus to remote powered devices over the RJ-45 copper port.
- 10/100TX to 100FX/SC Conversion — Converts Fast Ethernet copper to 100Base-FX multimode fiber with SC connector.
- Up to 2 km Fiber Reach — Supports multimode fiber distances up to 2 km (1.24 miles) over 50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm OM1/OM2 fiber.
- TAA Compliant — Meets Trade Agreements Act requirements for U.S. federal government procurement.
- Smart MissingLink (SML) — Monitors both network segments and propagates link-down events for fast fault isolation.
- Remote Power Cycle — Administratively cycling the upstream switch port resets the remote PoE+ device, eliminating the need for a physical visit.
- IEEE 802.1Q VLAN Transparent — Passes VLAN-tagged jumbo frames up to 10KB, compatible with modern enterprise switching infrastructure.
- Auto MDI/MDI-X — Eliminates crossover cable requirements on the copper port.
- Universal AC Power Supply — Included PSU supports US, UK, AU, and EU outlet configurations.
- 4K MAC Address Table — Store-and-forward switching with 4,096 MAC address capacity.
- Standalone or Wall-Mount — Compact form factor supports desktop standalone or wall-mounted installation.
