Product Overview

The Allied Telesis AT-X510-52GTX-10 is a high-density Allied Telesis x510-52GTX stackable gigabit switch built for wiring closet and building edge deployments demanding port density, resiliency, and simplified management. Featuring 48 x 10/100/1000T access ports, four 10G/1G SFP+ uplinks, two internal load-sharing AC power supply bays, and Allied Telesis VCStack virtual chassis stacking, the x510-52GTX delivers the availability and scalability required by enterprise, healthcare, education, and government network teams. It is the definitive choice for a high-density wiring closet gigabit edge switch and VCStack stackable access switch with dual PSU.

Product Description

Allied Telesis AT-X510-52GTX-10 stackable gigabit edge switch

The AT-X510-52GTX-10 provides 48 x 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 access ports suitable for connecting workstations, IP phones, printers, and other wired endpoint devices throughout a building floor or wiring closet. Four 10G/1G SFP+ uplink ports provide the bandwidth headroom needed to aggregate traffic up to a distribution or core switch without creating bottlenecks. Two internal load-sharing AC power supply bays allow a fully redundant power configuration, ensuring that a single PSU failure does not interrupt access-layer switching service.

The x510-52GTX supports Allied Telesis VCStack technology, allowing multiple units to be stacked into a single logical switch. This significantly reduces management complexity in multi-floor or multi-closet deployments: all stack members are configured, monitored, and upgraded as a single device. VCStack also enables cross-unit link aggregation (LAG), providing both redundancy and additional bandwidth to uplink switches. The platform includes two dedicated stack ports for ring or linear stacking topologies.

The x510 Series supports a comprehensive security feature set tailored for enterprise edge deployments including 802.1X authentication, MAC-based authentication, and web-based (captive portal) authentication, giving network administrators flexible options for endpoint access control. QoS with VLAN, sFlow traffic analysis, DHCP snooping, and SNMP v1/v2c/v3 are included for complete operational visibility and control. With 512 MB of DDR SDRAM and 64 MB of flash, the x510-52GTX has the memory headroom for full configuration tables in large deployments. A MTBF of 300,000 hours reflects the hardware reliability engineering behind the platform. Available from Creation Networks, an authorized Allied Telesis reseller.

Key Features

  • 48 x 10/100/1000Base-T Access Ports — High-density Gigabit connectivity for workstations, phones, and wired endpoints throughout the building floor.
  • 4 x 10G/1G SFP+ Uplinks — High-bandwidth fiber uplinks to distribution or core switches for congestion-free aggregation.
  • Dual Internal PSU Bays — Two internal load-sharing AC power supply slots for N+1 redundancy without external devices.
  • VCStack Virtual Chassis Stacking — Stack multiple units into a single managed logical device; simplifies provisioning and upgrades.
  • 2 Dedicated Stack Ports — Ring or linear stacking topology support for flexible deployment.
  • 802.1X / MAC / Web Authentication — Tri-mode endpoint authentication for secure access-layer control.
  • SNMP v1/v2c/v3 + Web + CLI — Full-featured management via multiple interfaces including RMON 1, 2, 3, 9 support.
  • QoS with 8 Priority Queues — Traffic prioritization for voice, video, and business-critical applications.
  • 512 MB DDR SDRAM / 64 MB Flash — Sufficient memory for full ARP, MAC, and routing tables in large edge deployments.
  • MTBF 300,000 Hours — Hardware engineered for continuous wiring closet operation.
  • sFlow Traffic Analysis — Integrated traffic sampling for network performance visibility.
  • IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet — Reduces power consumption on idle or low-utilization links.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the AT-X510-52GTX-10 support PoE on its copper ports?
No. The AT-X510-52GTX-10 does not include Power over Ethernet on any of its 48 copper access ports. For PoE+ access layer switching, consider the Allied Telesis x930-28GPX or x930-52GPX models.
Q: How many PSUs are included and can they be made redundant?
The switch includes two internal PSU bays with load-sharing capability. When both bays are populated, the switch operates in a fully redundant N+1 configuration — a single PSU failure does not interrupt switching operation.
Q: How does VCStack work on the x510-52GTX?
The AT-X510-52GTX-10 includes two dedicated stack ports. Multiple units can be connected in a ring or linear topology and managed as a single logical device, with cross-unit link aggregation available for uplink redundancy.
Q: What Layer 3 capabilities does this switch support?
The base platform supports Layer 2 switching with VLAN, QoS, and basic management. Layer 3 routing capabilities may be enabled through optional software licensing. Contact Creation Networks to confirm licensing options for your deployment.
Q: What management interfaces are available?
The switch supports web-based GUI, CLI, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Telnet, sFlow, DHCP, MIB II, and RMON groups 1, 2, 3, and 9. A dedicated out-of-band management port is also included.
Q: What certifications does the AT-X510-52GTX-10 carry?
The switch is certified to UL, cUL, TUV, FCC Class A, EN55022 Class A, VCCI Class A, and ICES-003 Class A EMC standards. It is also EU RoHS and China RoHS compliant.
Q: Where can I purchase the AT-X510-52GTX-10 and receive technical guidance?
The AT-X510-52GTX-10 is available from Creation Networks, an authorized Allied Telesis reseller providing pre-sales engineering consultation and post-sales support.
