Allen & Heath AH-SQ-6-PLUS – SQ6+ 48-Channel Digital Mixer, 25 Faders is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
What is the Allen & Heath SQ6+ digital mixer?
The Allen & Heath SQ6+ (AH-SQ-6-PLUS) is a 48-channel, 96kHz digital mixer with 25 motorised faders, 24 onboard mic preamps, 16 SoftKeys, 4 SoftRotaries and four built-in RackUltra FX engines. It is the mid-size frame of the SQ+ range, giving engineers more faders and local I/O for live sound, houses of worship and installed AV systems without moving up to a large-format console.
How does the Allen & Heath SQ6+ work?
The SQ6+ runs on Allen & Heath's 96kHz XCVI FPGA core, mixing 48 input channels to 44 busses with latency under 0.7 ms: 12 aux/group mixes plus main LR, 6 linkable matrix mixes and dedicated FX sends. Every input has HPF, gate/expander with sidechain, a patchable insert, 4-band parametric EQ with RTA, a peak/RMS compressor and delay, while mixes add GEQ, PEQ, compression and delay.
Eight RackExtra FX engines run alongside four RackUltra FX engines with dedicated stereo sends and returns. The RackUltra FX library, developed for dLive, includes premium reverbs, vocal tuning and pitch tools, harmonisers, saturation and amp modelling. DEEP processing models embed classic compressor, preamp and EQ emulations inside channel strips with no latency penalty.
The 24 onboard XLR preamps match the 24+1 fader layout for a simple one-to-one setup, and 16 line outputs feed PA, monitors and recording. A 128x128 SLink port connects Allen & Heath expanders and ME personal monitoring, the I/O port takes Dante, MADI or Waves cards, and USB provides multitrack recording and a 32x32 audio interface. Two 24-channel automatic mic mixers make the SQ6+ a strong choice for conferences and panel events.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the SQ6+ differ from the original SQ-6?
It keeps the 48-channel XCVI core of the SQ-6 and adds four RackUltra FX engines, more processing per channel and a larger touchscreen interface.
Can I add Dante to the SQ6+?
Yes. Install an SQ Dante card such as the AH-M-SQ-SDANTE64-A in the I/O port.
Can I mount a tablet on the console?
The SQ tablet bracket is designed for SQ-series mixers; confirm SQ+ fit with our team before ordering.
