Allen & Heath AH-IP-4B – IP4 Four-Button PoE Wallplate Controller is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
What is the Allen & Heath IP-4B wallplate controller?
The Allen & Heath IP-4B is an IP4 four-button wallplate remote controller for Allen & Heath AHM audio matrix systems. Its four illuminated, programmable buttons give non-technical users simple control of music source selection, zone level, mutes and preset recall, and it is powered over the network cable by PoE. It is a natural fit for bars, restaurants, conference rooms and multi-zone commercial sound systems.
How does the Allen & Heath IP-4B work?
The IP4 connects to the AHM system over standard TCP/IP Ethernet using a single Cat5 cable, either directly to the AHM processor or through a network switch so that multiple controllers can share one system. Power comes from any IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at PoE source, and maximum consumption is only 2.5 W.
All button functions are configured in AHM System Manager on PC or Mac. Each button can toggle a mute, recall a preset, step a level or select a source, and the illuminated keys show current status. Controllers can also change what other controllers do, so a room-combine preset can reassign wall panels when partitions open. The IP4 automatically matches firmware with connected devices to simplify installation and maintenance.
Allen & Heath builds the IP4 in two form factors: a US version that fits a standard single-gang box (NEMA WD-6, minimum 25 mm depth) and accepts Leviton Decora style faceplates, and an EU/UK version compatible with MK Elements faceplates. Faceplates are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which systems does the IP4 work with?
The IP4 interfaces with the Allen & Heath AHM system, such as the AHM-16 audio matrix processor, and is configured in AHM System Manager.
Does the IP4 need a separate power supply?
No. It is powered by PoE from an 802.3af or 802.3at switch or injector.
Is a faceplate included?
No. The US version accepts Decora style faceplates and the EU/UK version accepts MK Elements faceplates, ordered separately.
How is the IP4 different from the IP1?
The IP4 has four buttons for discrete actions such as source select and preset recall, while the IP1 uses a single push-and-turn rotary for level and selection.
How many IP4 controllers can I add?
Multiple IP controllers can be connected to an AHM system over a standard Ethernet network. Each unit needs a unique name and IP address.
