Allen & Heath AH-DT-22-M – Dante Input/Output Interface for Commercial AV
Product Overview
The Allen & Heath AH-DT-22-M is a compact Dante audio interface providing two analog mic/line inputs and two analog line outputs in a rugged aluminum enclosure designed for permanent installation. It operates at 48 or 96 kHz, is AES67 compatible, and is Dante Domain Manager ready, making it suitable for enterprise-grade Dante audio networks in commercial AV, broadcast, and hospitality applications. The unit is powered via PoE (802.3af) from a network switch, eliminating the need for a separate power supply run at the installation point; a 12 VDC power supply is available separately if PoE is not available. Phoenix Euroblock connectors on the analog I/O provide secure, maintenance-friendly terminations for permanent installations.
Product Description
Dante audio networking has become the standard protocol for commercial AV installations requiring flexible, scalable audio distribution over standard IP infrastructure. The AH-DT-22-M provides a cost-effective entry point to the Dante ecosystem while maintaining the signal quality and build standards expected in professional installations.
The DT-22-M is housed in a compact aluminum enclosure measuring 5.1 x 3.9 x 1.7 inches and weighing 0.5 kg. Two included surface-mount ear attachments allow it to be secured beneath tables, behind panels, or inside rack enclosures without a dedicated rack mount kit. An optional rack-mount kit is available for standard 19-inch rack deployment, allowing multiple units to be combined in a single rack space.
The mic/line inputs use balanced Phoenix Euroblock connectors with individual gain controls (0 to +55 dB), a mic/line switch, and +48V phantom power per channel. A -20 dB PAD is available for line-level sources with hot outputs. Maximum input level is +30 dBu on the line input. These specifications support connection of condenser microphones, dynamic microphones, line-level sources from AV processors, and broadcast audio feeds within the same unit.
The two line outputs are also balanced Phoenix Euroblock with a nominal output of +4 dBu and maximum output of +22 dBu, suitable for driving amplifiers, DSP processors, or local monitor speakers. The output impedance of under 75 ohms ensures compatibility with long cable runs common in commercial installation environments.
AES67 compatibility enables interoperability with non-Dante AES67 devices, broadening the ecosystem of compatible equipment on the same network. Dante Domain Manager readiness means the DT-22-M can participate in enterprise network topologies managed through Audinate's centralized management software, which is increasingly required in corporate, government, and education facilities with strict IT governance policies.
Note: This unit is sold without a power supply. Power must be provided via PoE (802.3af, minimum 15 W from the PoE switch) or a separately purchased 12 VDC, 1.25 A power supply. Confirm your network switch provides adequate PoE budget before deployment.
