Allen & Heath dLive DM0 – S Class MixRack with Redundant PSUs and Three I/O Ports
The Allen & Heath AH-DLIVE-DM0 is an S Class dLive MixRack designed for distributed audio scenarios, digital splits, and installations where audio continuity is mission-critical. It houses the XCVI processing core with 128 full-processing input channels, a 64-bus architecture, and 0.7ms latency at 96kHz, and distinguishes itself from the C Class MixRacks with three I/O Port expansion slots and internal dual redundant power supplies. The DM0 is the appropriate choice when system uptime, extensive network audio integration, or FOH/monitor split applications are the primary requirements.
Product Description
Like all dLive MixRacks, the DM0 is built around the XCVI Core — 36 parallel virtual processing cores with over 10,000 crosspoints per sample, an FPGA router with 3,000 x 3,000 path capacity, a 96-bit accumulator, and 0.7ms end-to-end latency. The 128 input channels carry complete gate, EQ, compressor, and delay processing. The 64-bus architecture supports groups, FX sends, aux buses, matrix outputs, and LR, LCR, or 5.1 mains configurations. Sixteen RackExtra FX slots each carry a dedicated stereo return, and 24 DCAs provide efficient subgroup management.
The DM0 has no onboard analogue I/O beyond the connection hub — it is intended for use in systems where all audio arrives via network or DX expanders. Three I/O Port expansion slots — each supporting 128 channels at 96kHz — allow Dante, MADI, Waves SoundGrid, and gigaACE cards to be installed simultaneously, providing up to 384 channels of networked audio capacity in a single unit. Dual DX links extend the system with up to 22 DX I/O expanders. A dedicated ME-1 port at 48kHz connects Allen & Heath personal monitoring systems, and the connection hub includes gigaACE gigabit link to any dLive surface, dual network ports, and BNC Word Clock I/O. Internal dual redundant power supplies provide automatic failover without external units. The DM0 is rack-mounted with a flush front panel, ultra-quiet fan, and reversible rack ears.
Key Features
- Three I/O Port Expansion Slots — Accepts Dante, MADI, Waves SoundGrid, and gigaACE cards simultaneously, providing up to 384 channels of networked audio from a single MixRack.
- Internal Dual Redundant Power Supplies — Automatic PSU failover built into the chassis; no external redundancy unit required for mission-critical installations.
- XCVI FPGA Core — 160x64 Processing at 96kHz — 36 parallel cores, 0.7ms latency, 96-bit accumulator, and 10,000+ crosspoints per sample.
- 128 Full-Processing Input Channels — Complete gate, EQ, dynamics, and delay processing on all 128 input channels at 96kHz.
- Configurable 64-Bus Architecture — Groups, FX, aux, matrix, and mains in LR, LCR, and 5.1 configurations with multiple PFL options.
- 16 RackExtra FX Slots — Each with dedicated stereo return; reverb, delay, modulation, and specialty processing included.
- Dual DX Links — Connects up to 22 DX I/O expanders for distributed analogue I/O at remote stage positions.
- Dedicated ME-1 Port — 48kHz Ethernet port for direct connection to ME-1 and ME-500 personal mixer systems.
- Surface and Software Control — Operates with any dLive surface via GigaACE, dLive Editor software, Allen & Heath IP remotes, or third-party TCP/IP controllers.
- 24 DCAs and Built-in RTA and Signal Generator — Complete system management tools included in the processing core.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does the DM0 have onboard analogue inputs and outputs?
- No. The DM0 has no onboard analogue I/O. All audio enters and leaves the system via the three I/O Port expansion slots (Dante, MADI, Waves, or gigaACE cards) or via connected DX I/O expanders. This makes it purpose-built for fully networked or distributed audio deployments.
- What is the advantage of dual redundant PSUs?
- The internal dual PSUs provide automatic failover if one supply fails, without requiring any external redundancy unit. This is critical for broadcast, government, and permanent installations where audio continuity cannot be interrupted.
- How many I/O Port slots does the DM0 have compared to C Class MixRacks?
- The DM0 has three I/O Port slots, compared to one on all C Class MixRacks (CDM32, CDM48, CDM64). This allows simultaneous Dante, MADI, and gigaACE cards, providing up to 384 networked audio channels in a single unit.
- What control surfaces are compatible with the DM0?
- All dLive surfaces connect via the GigaACE gigabit link. The DM0 can also be operated via dLive Editor software, Allen & Heath IP remote controllers (IP1, IP6, IP8), and CC surface controllers, or via third-party TCP/IP control.
- Is the DM0 suitable for FOH and monitor split applications?
- Yes. The DM0's three I/O Port slots and dual DX links allow simultaneous FOH and monitor world audio routing, with different surfaces or software clients handling each position from the same MixRack.
- What warranty applies to the DM0?
- Allen & Heath products carry a standard manufacturer warranty when purchased through an authorised dealer. Contact Creation Networks for warranty registration and support details.
