Allen & Heath dLive C3500 – 24-Fader Digital Mixing Surface, C Class

The Allen & Heath dLive C3500 (AH-DLIVE-DLC35) is the largest control surface in the dLive C Class lineup, offering 24 motorized faders across 6 fully assignable layers for a total of 144 fader strips. Designed for professional touring, broadcast, and fixed installations where a full-featured dLive surface is needed at a lower price point than the S Class, the C3500 delivers dual 12-inch capacitive touchscreens and the Harmony UI workflow in a slightly more streamlined chassis. It connects to any dLive MixRack via CAT5e using the GigaACE protocol.

Product Description

The C3500 centers on Allen & Heath's Harmony UI, pairing dual 12-inch capacitive touchscreens with tactile wrap-around rotary controls. The gesture-based interface supports pinch, swipe, and drag-and-drop navigation for EQ, dynamics, FX, and mix routing without menu diving. Configurable widget areas on each screen provide quick access to scenes, meters, and FX parameters, and 3 pages of 6 assignable rotaries per screen keep frequently used controls within immediate reach.

Nineteen assignable SoftKeys provide one-touch shortcuts for user-defined functions, and the surface includes dedicated Engineer's Wedge and IEM fader strips for monitor workflows. Built-in analog I/O — 6 XLR mic/line inputs and 6 XLR line outputs — plus AES3 digital I/O allows the C3500 to function as a standalone front end for smaller systems without an additional stage box. The rear-panel I/O option slot accepts 128-channel networking cards at 96 kHz, supporting Dante, MADI, and other protocols.

USB stereo recording and playback is included for onboard two-track capture. The surface was designed for daylight visibility, with metering and screen brightness calibrated for outdoor stages and high-ambient-light installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the dLive C Class and S Class surfaces?
The C Class surfaces (C1500, C2500, C3500, CTi1500) share the same XCVI processing core and Harmony UI as the S Class but have a single I/O option slot versus two on the S Class, and the C3500 lacks the dual-redundant GigaACE failover link found on S Class surfaces.
Which MixRacks are compatible with the C3500?
The C3500 connects to all dLive MixRacks (DM32, DM48, DM64) via CAT5e GigaACE link. It is also compatible with the C Class MixRack systems.
Does the C3500 support Dante?
Yes. The rear I/O option slot accepts the Allen & Heath Dante option card (M-DL-DANTE), providing up to 128 channels of Dante networking at 96 kHz.
Can the C3500 be used for both FOH and monitors?
Yes. Dedicated Engineer's Wedge and IEM fader strips are included, allowing monitor engineers to operate from the same surface alongside a front-of-house engineer when connected to the same MixRack.
Is the C3500 suitable for fixed installation?
Yes. The surface supports configurable user permissions and custom screen layouts, making it appropriate for auditoriums, houses of worship, and training rooms where multiple operator skill levels need to be accommodated.
What is included in the box with the C3500?
The package includes the dLive C3500 surface unit, a Getting Started Guide, safety sheet, IEC mains lead, and a dust cover.
