AIDA Imaging PTZ-X20-IP – Full HD IP H.264/H.265 PTZ Camera 20x Zoom
Product Overview
The AIDA Imaging PTZ-X20-IP is a full HD PTZ camera with H.264/H.265 IP streaming, 20x optical zoom, and simultaneous 3G-SDI, HDMI, USB 3.0, and IP (RTSP/RTMP) output, designed for broadcast, house of worship, and commercial AV installations that require IP streaming without an NDI license cost. It delivers 1080p60 to multiple destinations concurrently, with H.264 and H.265 compression supporting efficient bandwidth use on standard IP networks. VISCA control over RS-232 and IP integrates with commercial AV control systems, and PoE+ power delivery reduces installation cabling to a single CAT run.
Product Description
The PTZ-X20-IP provides the same camera platform and output configuration as the PTZ-NDI-X20 but replaces the NDI|HX2 protocol with H.264/H.265 RTSP/RTMP IP streaming. This makes it appropriate for installations where the production environment does not use NDI — streaming directly to RTMP destinations like YouTube Live or Facebook Live, feeding RTSP-capable video management systems, or integrating into workflows where standard IP protocols are preferred over NDI.
H.265 (HEVC) compression reduces bandwidth requirements by approximately 50 percent compared to H.264 at equivalent quality, significant in multi-camera deployments where aggregate stream bandwidth is a concern. RTSP and RTMP protocol support covers a broad range of IP video destinations from media servers and video management systems to streaming encoders and production software. The simultaneous 3G-SDI, HDMI, and IP outputs allow the camera to feed a local SDI production switcher and a remote IP streaming destination at the same time.
Key Features
- H.264 and H.265 IP Streaming — H.265 reduces bandwidth by ~50% versus H.264 at equivalent quality for efficient multi-camera IP deployments.
- Simultaneous 3G-SDI + HDMI + IP + USB 3.0 Output — All outputs active concurrently for parallel feeds to SDI switchers, HDMI displays, IP destinations, and USB capture.
- RTSP and RTMP Protocol Support — Compatible with streaming platforms, media servers, and video management systems.
- 20x Optical Zoom (F1.5–F3.0) — 61° wide FOV to tight telephoto framing for medium to large venues.
- 1/2.5-Inch Progressive CMOS Sensor — 0.1 lux minimum illumination for reliable low-light performance.
- 128 Preset Positions — Pre-programmed shot recall for live production.
- VISCA Control over RS-232 and IP — Integrates with hardware controllers and AV control processors.
- 3.5mm TRS Stereo Audio Input — Embeds line-level audio into IP streams at the camera body.
- PoE+ Power (IEEE 802.3at) — Single CAT cable provides power, network video, and IP control.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the PTZ-X20-IP and the PTZ-NDI-X20?
- Both share the same platform and output set. The PTZ-NDI-X20 uses NDI|HX2 for IP output; the PTZ-X20-IP uses H.264/H.265 RTSP/RTMP, compatible with streaming platforms and systems that don't support NDI.
- Can the camera stream directly to YouTube Live or Facebook Live?
- Yes. The RTMP output allows direct streaming to any RTMP-capable platform by entering the stream URL and key into the camera's web interface.
- Does H.265 compression require special configuration?
- H.265 is configured through the camera's web interface. The receiving device must support H.265 decoding. H.264 remains available for maximum compatibility.
- What is the latency of the IP stream?
- IP stream latency is approximately 200–500ms. For lowest-latency monitoring, use the HDMI or 3G-SDI output.
- Can this camera be controlled over the network without a hardware controller?
- Yes. VISCA over IP via the RJ-45 port allows full pan, tilt, zoom, and preset control from any VISCA-IP-capable software over the network.
