Product Overview

The Adder XD614P-DP-US is an AdderLink XD614 quad-head DisplayPort KVM extender pair from the XD600 range, supplied with US mains cables. It transmits up to four heads of HD video, USB 2.0 HID, and audio over a single CATx or fiber cable, using DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport (MST) so a four-monitor operator desk needs only one link back to the machine room. For control rooms specifying a quad-monitor KVM extender over CATx or fiber, the XD614 delivers up to 100m of copper reach or 4km over fiber with low-latency, point-to-point operation.

Product Description

AdderLink XD614 quad-head DisplayPort KVM extender pair

Quad-monitor desks are standard in modern control rooms, but running four separate video extensions multiplies cabling, failure points, and cost. The XD614 collapses all four displays into a single cable by exploiting DisplayPort 1.2 MST: the transmitter takes the MST stream from the host and the receiver breaks it out to up to four monitors at resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz with 8 bits per color and 4:4:4 chroma sampling — full-fidelity text and graphics with no chroma compromise.

AdderLink XD614 transmitter unit connections

The link itself is a low-latency point-to-point protocol over a single CATx or fiber cable that works as soon as it is connected — no network setup, drivers, or software. Copper installs reach up to 100m (328ft) over CAT6; fiber installs reach up to 4km (2.5 miles) using SFP modules (sold separately), letting the equipment room sit in another building entirely. Alternatively, the same host can be deployed as a single-head 4096x2160 @ 60Hz (DCI 4K60) extension where one large-format display is preferred over four HD heads.

USB emulation ensures reliable connection of up to four full- and low-speed HID devices, from keyboards and mice to graphics tablets and jog shuttles used in broadcast workflows. Audio is comprehensive: DisplayPort encapsulates two channels of 24-bit/192kHz PCM with each video signal, USB audio carries two channels of 24-bit/96kHz, and analog stereo line in/out, microphone, and headphone connections run at 24-bit/96kHz. Each unit is powered from a 100-240V AC, 47/63Hz supply delivering 12V DC at 18W. Pair the extenders with managed rack power and switching from our Adder Technology collection.

Key Features

  • Quad-Head over One Cable — DisplayPort 1.2 MST carries up to four 1920x1200 @ 60Hz displays through a single CATx or fiber link.
  • Full-Fidelity Video — 8 bits per color with 4:4:4 chroma sampling preserves sharp text and accurate color on every head.
  • Single-Head 4K Option — Supports one display at 4096x2160 @ 60Hz (DCI 4K60) as an alternative to quad HD.
  • Copper or Fiber Reach — Up to 100m (328ft) over CAT6 or up to 4km (2.5 miles) over fiber with SFP modules (sold separately).
  • Low-Latency Point-to-Point Link — Works as soon as it is connected, with no network setup, drivers, or software.
  • Emulated USB HID — Reliable connection of up to four full/low-speed HID devices including graphics tablets and jog shuttles.
  • Comprehensive Audio — DisplayPort 24-bit/192kHz PCM, USB 24-bit/96kHz, and analog stereo line, microphone, and headphone paths.
  • Complete Pair with US Mains — Transmitter and receiver supplied together with US power cables for immediate deployment.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studio production desks running quad-monitor operator positions
  • Government spaces relocating multi-display workstations away from secure equipment rooms
  • Commercial meeting space operations desks driving four displays from remote hosts
  • Training rooms extending multi-screen instructor stations from a central rack

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my computer need to support MST?
Yes. Quad-head operation uses DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport from the host graphics output; the receiver then breaks the stream out to up to four monitors.

Can I use fiber instead of copper?
Yes. The XD614 supports fiber links up to 4km using SFP modules, which are sold separately; CAT6 copper covers runs up to 100m.

Can it drive a single 4K display instead of four HD displays?
Yes. The extender supports a single-head mode at 4096x2160 @ 60Hz (DCI 4K60).

Which peripherals work at the receiver?
USB emulation supports up to four full- and low-speed HID devices, including keyboards, mice, graphics tablets, and jog shuttle controllers.

Is any software installation required?
No. The point-to-point link works as soon as it is connected, with no drivers, software, or network configuration.
