Product Overview

The Adder X200AS-USB/P-US is a complete VGA KVM extender kit that places a full keyboard, video, mouse and audio console up to 200m (650 ft.) away from the computer over a single run of CATx cable. The kit pairs the AdderLink X200AS receiver — with integrated 44.1kHz digital stereo audio and video de-skew correction — with a CATx USB computer access module and a US power supply. For AV integrators and IT teams searching for a long-range VGA KVM extender over CAT5, a USB KVM extender with audio, or a CATx KVM extension kit for control and presentation spaces, the X200AS-USB/P-US delivers real-time keyboard and mouse response with high-resolution analog video.

Product Description

In many commercial AV and IT environments, the computer driving a display or operator position needs to live in a secure rack room rather than at the desk or lectern. The X200AS-USB/P-US solves this by extending VGA video at resolutions up to 1600 x 1200, USB keyboard and mouse control, and stereo audio across standard CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 cabling. Because the link runs over structured cabling already present in most buildings, installation is fast and cable paths stay clean.

Adder X200AS-USB/P-US VGA KVM extender kit with receiver and CATx USB computer access module

The X200AS receiver is the top model in the AdderLink X200 family. It applies 128 steps of video signal compensation plus its own brightness correction, and adds integrated de-skew with 300MHz bandwidth — equivalent to a quarter-pixel adjustment at 1600 x 1200 — to eliminate the color separation that long CATx runs can introduce. Each receiver carries a two-port integrated KVM switch, so a single user station can select between two computers (or a local and a remote machine) using keyboard hotkeys or mouse control, with individual video settings stored per connection.

The included CATx USB computer access module connects to the host computer's VGA, USB and audio ports and links back to the receiver over a single RJ45 run. Full DDC emulation ensures high-performance video cards negotiate their correct resolutions, and the receiver can also serve as the remote user station for AdderView CATx KVM switches, making this kit a natural building block in larger control room KVM extension projects. Key Features

  • 200m / 650 ft. VGA Extension — Extends 1600 x 1200 VGA video the full 200m over CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 cable so computers can be racked away from the user position.
  • Integrated De-Skew Correction — 300MHz-bandwidth skew correction removes the RGB color separation that long CATx runs can cause, keeping text and fine detail sharp.
  • 128-Step Video Compensation with Brightness Control — Fine picture adjustment ensures the extended image stays crisp, clear and bright at any cable length.
  • 44.1kHz Digital Stereo Audio — High-fidelity digital audio travels alongside video and USB on the same CATx link for speaker-equipped workstations.
  • Two-Port Integrated KVM Switch — Each receiver supports two computer connections selectable by hotkey or mouse, with per-port video settings.
  • Full DDC Emulation — Active DDC support lets high-performance graphics cards run at their proper high resolutions through the extension link.
  • Broad OS Compatibility — Works with Windows, Linux, Unix, BSD, Sun OS, Solaris, Mac OS, NetWare and other known operating systems.
  • Works with AdderView CATx Switches — The X200 receiver doubles as a remote user station for AdderView CATx KVM switches in larger deployments.

Typical Applications

  • Boardroom — keep the presentation PC in an equipment closet while the console stays at the table.
  • Conference room — extend a rack-mounted computer to the room's lectern or credenza position.
  • Government space — place computing hardware in controlled areas away from the operator desk.
  • Broadcast studio — keep noisy workstations out of acoustically sensitive production areas.
  • Training room — drive instructor stations from centrally racked PCs over existing structured cabling.
  • House of worship — locate the presentation computer at the tech booth or rack while operating from the platform.
