Every computer connected to a DVI-based KVM switch needs two links back to the switch: video and USB. Running those as separate cables doubles the loom behind the rack and doubles the chance of a mislabeled or crossed connection during service. The VSCD4 combines both into a single 5m assembly — dual-link DVI-D male to male for video, USB Type-A male to Type-B male for keyboard, mouse, and peripheral data — so each computer drop is one cable, labeled once, dressed once. The dual-link DVI-D conductors carry resolutions up to 2560x1600 at 60Hz, covering high-resolution workstation displays well beyond the single-link limit.
