Standard HDMI plugs rely on friction alone, which is rarely acceptable in commercial AV. A partially unseated HDMI connector behind a rack can drop a video wall feed or blank an operator display at the worst possible moment. The VSCD12 addresses this with locking HDMI connectors that hold the cable firmly in place on equipment designed to accept them, giving installers a verifiable, secure video connection.
The 1.5m length suits source-to-extender and extender-to-display runs within a rack bay or at a desk position — long enough for clean dressing, short enough to avoid coiled excess.
