Product Description

Inside the chassis, two switched-mode 495 W power modules slot into the rear and share the load intelligently on an equal basis. Either module alone can power all 16 ports, and if one ceases operation the full load transfers immediately to the other — a single module is rated at 900,000 hours MTBF, with the complete unit rated at 600,000 hours. Modules are hot-swappable, so a failed supply can be replaced without interrupting connected equipment.

Each of the 16 outputs is a Limited Power Source to IEC 60950-1, capped at 12 V / 2.5 A (30 W), and uses a locking 3-pin DC connector to guard against accidental disconnection in busy racks. At start-up the unit enables outputs in sequence to reduce instantaneous load, and overlapping safety features protect each port against excess demand from any connected device thereafter.

Management is built in. Through the 10/100 Ethernet port, administrators can view temperature, fan speeds, and per-port current measurements, and switch each output individually — useful for remotely power-cycling a hung extender without a site visit.
