Product Overview
The Adder RD1916US is an ADDERView RDX 1000 series 1U rack drawer console that combines a 19-inch LCD, US keyboard, and touch-pad with an integrated 16-port CATx KVM switch. Built for server room and equipment rack management, this LCD KVM rack drawer gives administrators direct BIOS-level control of up to 16 computers from a single rack unit, with cascading support to as many as 256 machines. It is a complete rack console KVM solution for facilities that need both local control at the rack and a shared remote user over CATx cable.
Product Description
The RDX 1000 platform packs a premium-quality Samsung SXGA 1280 x 1024 TFT LCD panel, keyboard, and touch-pad into a compact 1U metal tray that slides into a standard 19-inch rack. The integrated 16-port switch connects to servers over neat RJ45 CATx cabling using Adder Computer Access Modules (CAMs), which are available for USB, PS/2, and Sun keyboard and mouse interfaces, giving the console true multi-platform capability across Windows, Linux, macOS, and Sun OS systems.

A defining capability of the RDX 1000 is its shared local-and-remote architecture. In addition to the operator at the rack, a second user can connect over CATx cable from up to 300 meters away using an ADDERLink X200 or X100 receiver and the console's integrated CATx extender, sharing access to all 16 connected computers. Video performance reaches resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 with DDC emulation and DC balancing for accurate color to both local and remote users.
System administrators can configure 16 separate user profiles with unique access privileges stored within the switch, and an advanced on-screen display handles device selection. An integrated RS232 port enables control of external devices such as power management units. Cascading a single ADDERView CATx 1000 switch extends control to 31 computers, and the RDX 1000 automatically detects cascade connections to scale up to 256 computers. A locking power connector protects against accidental disconnection in busy racks. Pair it with rack power management such as the Adder Technology lineup at Creation Networks, where you will also find CAMs, extenders, and the 17-inch RD1716US variant.
