Product Overview
The Adder RD1716US is an ADDERView RDX 1000 series 1U rack drawer console pairing a 17-inch LCD, US keyboard, and touch-pad with an integrated 16-port CATx KVM switch. As a complete LCD KVM rack drawer for server room management, it gives administrators direct control of up to 16 computers from one rack unit and cascades with ADDERView CATx 1000 switches to reach as many as 256 machines. A shared remote-user port extends the same rack console KVM access to a second operator up to 300 m away over CATx cable.
Product Description
The RDX 1000 platform builds a premium-quality Samsung SXGA 1280 x 1024 TFT LCD panel, keyboard, and touch-pad into a compact 1U metal tray for standard 19-inch racks. Sixteen RJ45 CATx ports connect to servers through Adder Computer Access Modules (CAMs) available for USB, PS/2, and Sun interfaces, delivering true multi-platform capability across Windows, Linux, macOS, and Sun OS with country code reporting, DDC, and continuous keyboard and mouse emulation.

Beyond the local console, the integrated CATx extender lets a remote user connect from up to 300 meters away with an ADDERLink X200 or X100 receiver, sharing access to all 16 computers with the operator at the rack. Video performance supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 with DDC emulation, enhanced by DC balancing for full, true color at both positions.
Administrators can define 16 separate user profiles with unique access privileges stored within the switch, selected through an advanced on-screen display. An integrated RS232 port controls external devices such as power management equipment. Cascading a single ADDERView CATx 1000 extends control to 31 computers, and the RDX 1000 automatically detects cascade connections to scale to 256. A locking 12 VDC power connector ensures dependable operation in dense racks. The 19-inch RD1916US variant and companion CAMs, extenders, and power products are available in the Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks.
