Product Overview
The Adder PSU-REDPRO1-16-US is the RED-PSU PRO1-16, a 1U rack mount power distribution unit that supplies managed 12V power to up to sixteen KVM extenders or similar devices from a single 495W power module. Built for equipment racks where dozens of plug-top adapters would otherwise crowd power strips, this 16-port rack power supply for KVM equipment adds web-based monitoring, per-output control, and locking connectors in one chassis. A second power module can be added later for redundancy, making it a practical entry point for facilities that may scale their KVM power protection over time.
Product Description

Racks populated with KVM transmitters and receivers typically rely on individual external power adapters — hard to label, easy to dislodge, and impossible to monitor. The RED-PSU PRO1-16 consolidates that power into sixteen separate, lockable outputs, each delivering up to 30W at 12V through a locking connector that resists accidental disconnection during rack maintenance. A single switched-mode 495W power module with an IEC inlet accepts 90-264V AC at 47/63Hz, covering US and international mains without configuration.

Management runs over an integrated 10/100 Ethernet port: the web interface displays temperature, fan speeds, and individual current measurements for every output, and each output can be switched on or off remotely. That capability lets engineers power-cycle a misbehaving extender from the network operations desk instead of dispatching someone to the rack room. Reliability figures are strong — the main unit is rated at 600,000 hours MTBF and the power module at 900,000 hours.

The chassis includes a second module bay, so a 495W module can be fitted later to create a dual redundant configuration as uptime requirements grow. An optional compact converter dongle allows 5V products to draw power from the unit as well. Find compatible Adder extenders and accessories in our Adder Technology collection.
Key Features
- 16 Lockable 12V Outputs — Each output supplies up to 30W at 12V through a locking connector that prevents accidental disconnection.
- 495W Power Module — A single switched-mode module with IEC inlet accepts 90-264V AC at 47/63Hz worldwide mains.
- Web-Based Monitoring and Control — The 10/100 Ethernet interface reports temperature, fan speeds, and per-output current, with remote switching of every output.
- Upgradeable to Redundant Power — A second 495W module can be fitted in the spare bay for dual redundant operation.
- High Reliability — 600,000 hours MTBF for the main unit and 900,000 hours for the power module.
- 5V Device Support — An optional compact converter dongle lets 5V products run from the unit.
- 1U 19-Inch Rack Design — Replaces sixteen plug-top adapters with one managed rack unit.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio racks consolidating power for KVM extender fleets
- Government spaces standardizing monitored power for KVM infrastructure
- Commercial meeting space and campus equipment rooms reducing adapter clutter
- Auditorium and all-hands room rack rooms using remote power cycling to cut service visits

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add redundancy later?
Yes. The chassis includes a second module bay; fitting another 495W power module creates a dual redundant configuration equivalent to the PRO2 series.
Can outputs be controlled remotely?
Yes. Each of the sixteen outputs can be individually switched on or off through the web interface over the 10/100 Ethernet connection.
What devices can it power?
Devices requiring 12V at up to 30W per port with compatible locking connectors, such as Adder KVM extenders; 5V products can be supported with the optional converter dongle.
What monitoring data is available?
The web interface displays unit temperature, fan speeds, and individual current measurements for every output in real time.
How reliable is the unit?
The main unit carries a 600,000-hour MTBF rating and each power module is rated at 900,000 hours.
