Product Description

EDID is the data that describes a monitor's capabilities — supported resolutions, manufacturer, display size, and more — to the graphics card over the Display Data Channel (DDC). When extenders, splitters, or long cable runs sit between source and display, that channel is often broken, and the graphics card falls back to conservative or incorrect video modes. The DDC Ghost restores order by sitting inline and providing EDID data directly to the graphics card, so the monitor is no longer queried at all.

The device clones a full dual-page EDID — the standard data block plus the extended block — which keeps it compatible with current display devices, and it supports true dual-page DDC emulation so high-performance video cards can run at high resolutions through extenders that lack active DDC support. Where no screen data is available at all, a built-in standard EDID profile covers most display devices, and the installer chooses whether to use the cloned or the standard data set.

Setup is a single-button, push-and-go process guided by the built-in LED indicator, which makes swapping display devices in the field fast and predictable. Power comes inline from VGA pin 9, eliminating an external adapter in most installations; an optional 5V external supply covers sources that do not provide pin 9 power.
