Product Overview
The Adder C-USB-LAN-RX-US is the receiver unit of the C-USB-LAN system, a high-performance USB 2.0 extender over Gigabit Ethernet that lets you locate computers away from the user workstation while keeping the original desktop experience. With four transparent, high-speed USB 2.0 ports at the console end, this 4-port USB extender over CATx or a 1GbE IP network supports everything from keyboards and mice to touch screens, webcams, headsets, and mass storage. It is a natural companion to KVM-over-IP deployments that need additional transparent USB at the desk, and it integrates directly with ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) for switched USB routing.
Product Description
The C-USB-LAN receiver connects to a C-USB-LAN transmitter (at the host computer) either point-to-point over a single CATx cable or across a standard Gigabit Ethernet network, with up to 100m (328ft) per cable segment. Because the system rides ordinary structured cabling, integrators can place USB endpoints wherever the network reaches — beyond a single cable run when routed through network switches.

Operation is fully transparent to the host computer, the peripherals, and the user: devices behave exactly as if plugged in locally, with no drivers or special software. Crucially for AV work, isochronous USB devices — webcams, conference headsets, microphones — are supported, which many simple USB extenders cannot handle. The receiver presents 4x USB Type A 2.0 ports for the desk.

In larger systems, the C-USB-LAN can be controlled and switched by the AdderLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) and programmed to switch in tandem with, or independently of, ADDERLink INFINITY KVM endpoints. An open API exposes all functionality to authorized third-party control systems, so room controllers can re-route USB just as they route video. Units ship in a zero-configuration state; when bought as a pair they are pre-synchronized and locate each other automatically on the network. The compact all-metal chassis (100 x 26 x 76 mm) tucks behind monitors or under desks. This listing is the receiver (RX) unit including PSU; a C-USB-LAN-T transmitter is required at the computer. - Isochronous Device Support — Webcams, headsets, and microphones work correctly, enabling conferencing peripherals at extended desks.
- CATx or Gigabit Ethernet Link — Run point-to-point over a single CAT5e+ cable or across a 1GbE network, up to 100m per segment.
- Fully Transparent Operation — No drivers or host software; devices behave exactly as if locally connected.
- AIM Integration — Switchable via ADDERLink INFINITY Manager, in tandem with or independent of INFINITY KVM endpoints.
- Open API — Authorized third-party control systems can access all switching functionality.
- Zero-Config Deployment — Plug in and work immediately; paired units find each other automatically.
- Compact Metal Construction — 100 x 26 x 76 mm, 0.2kg chassis for discreet mounting.
Typical Applications
- Boardroom — place conferencing cameras, speakerphones, and touch panels far from the codec or PC.
- Conference room — extend USB peripherals from a table or lectern to rack-mounted computers.
- Broadcast studio — route jog shuttles and control surfaces to machine-room workstations.
- Government space — keep hosts in secured rooms while USB peripherals stay at the operator desk.
- Training room — distribute instructor USB devices to remote lab hosts over the LAN.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need anything else to use this receiver?
Yes. The C-USB-LAN-RX-US is the console-side receiver; a C-USB-LAN-T transmitter is required at the host computer. The two are also sold together as the C-USB-LAN-P pair.
Can it run over my existing network, or does it need a dedicated cable?
Either. It works point-to-point over a single CATx cable or across a standard 1GbE Ethernet network, which removes the 100m single-cable limit when switched through the LAN.
Will webcams and conference headsets work?
Yes. The C-USB-LAN explicitly supports isochronous USB devices, including webcams, headsets, and microphones.
Does it integrate with ADDERLink INFINITY systems?
Yes. It can be controlled and switched by the AIM manager and programmed to follow INFINITY endpoint switching or operate independently.
Are drivers required on the host computer?
No. Operation is fully transparent; the host sees peripherals as if directly attached, on all known operating systems.
What USB speeds are supported?
USB 2.0 transparent high-speed operation across all four receiver ports.
