Product Overview

The Adder AVS-2114 is a secure 4-port DVI KVM switch that lets one operator work across four computers on different security classification levels from a single keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speaker set. NIAP Protection Profile 4.0 certified and TAA compliant, this single-head secure KVM switch enforces isolation between channels with uni-directional data paths, hardware anti-tampering, and non-reprogrammable firmware. It is the appropriate choice wherever a NIAP-certified desktop KVM switch is mandated for multi-domain workstations handling classified and unclassified networks side by side.

Product Description

Secure facilities cannot rely on conventional KVM switches, which can become a bridge between isolated networks. The AdderView Secure AVS-2114 is engineered specifically to prevent data leakage between the four connected systems while preserving a fast, natural desktop workflow.

Every isolation mechanism is implemented in hardware. The keyboard and mouse processor is powered down and reset at each switchover so no shared RAM can carry data between channels, and all buffers are actively cleared after use. Uni-directional optical data diodes enforce one-way, computer-to-speaker audio flow, blocking eavesdropping and line-in re-tasking. Console USB ports accept only HID devices — storage drives and other USB classes are actively rejected.

Operators get configurable multi-color LED channel buttons and an e-paper status display for clear, at-a-glance confirmation of the active domain. An automatic free-flow switching mode moves KVM and audio focus between ports as the mouse crosses screen boundaries, and an audio-hold function keeps sound locked to one computer while the operator works on another. Single-link DVI-D video runs at up to 1920x1200@60Hz, and the fanless all-metal chassis with holographic anti-tamper labels suits quiet, supervised environments. The unit works with Windows, Linux, macOS, and all known operating systems. Compare additional secure switches in the Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • NIAP PP 4.0 Certified, TAA Compliant — Meets the current NIAP Protection Profile for peripheral sharing devices required in government and defense procurement.
  • No Shared RAM Between Channels — The keyboard/mouse processor powers down and resets at every switchover, and data buffers are actively cleared after use.
  • Uni-Directional Audio Diodes — Optical data diodes enforce one-way computer-to-speaker flow, preventing eavesdropping and line-in re-tasking.
  • Restricted USB Function — Console USB ports accept HID devices only; storage drives and other device classes are actively prohibited.
  • Hardware Anti-Tampering — Holographic tamper-evident labels give immediate visual indication if the enclosure has been opened.
  • Automatic Free-Flow Switching — Optional configuration moves KVM and audio control between ports simply by moving the mouse between windows.
  • Audio Hold — Lock audio to one computer while switching keyboard, video, and mouse to another.
  • Clear Channel Identification — Four multi-color status LEDs and an e-paper display confirm the active domain in real time.
  • Fanless Metal Construction — Silent operation in an all-metal 344mm chassis suited to desktop or rack placement.

Typical Applications

  • Government space — multi-domain desktops spanning classified and unclassified networks.
  • Commercial meeting space — secure facilities where meeting-room PCs on separate networks share one console.
  • Training room — secure instruction environments that require certified isolation between training and operational networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AVS-2114 approved for classified environments?
It is NIAP Protection Profile 4.0 certified and TAA compliant, the certification commonly required for peripheral sharing switches in US government and defense deployments. Confirm applicability with your information assurance authority.

Can users plug a USB flash drive into the console ports?
No. The console USB ports accept only HID devices such as keyboards and mice; mass storage and other USB classes are actively blocked by design.

Does it support HDMI sources?
The switch uses DVI-D connections. HDMI computers can typically be connected using Adder HDMI-to-DVI-D cables such as the VSCD11; contact Creation Networks to confirm the right cabling for your sources.

What is the audio-hold function?
Audio hold assigns the speaker output to a specific computer while the keyboard, video, and mouse switch elsewhere — useful for monitoring comms or alerts from one domain while working on another.

Can the switch be operated remotely from the desk?
Yes. The Adder AS-4RCU secure remote control unit is compatible with AdderView Secure 4-port switches, allowing the switch itself to sit in a rack or under the desk.

How can I tell if a unit has been tampered with?
Holographic anti-tamper labels on the enclosure show clear visual evidence if the case has been opened or compromised, supporting chain-of-custody verification at installation.

Where can I get deployment assistance?
Creation Networks supports secure KVM rollouts for government and enterprise clients. Browse the full Adder Technology collection or contact our team for configuration help.
