Product Overview
The Adder AVS-1124 is a secure 4-port multi-viewer KVM switch that lets one operator view and control four computers spanning multiple security classification levels on a single display. NIAP Protection Profile 4.0 certified and TAA compliant, this secure multi-viewer KVM switch accepts four DVI-D inputs and generates output up to UHD 4K (3840x2160 at 30Hz) across dual HDMI console ports, preserving HD source quality even in tiled layouts. For defense, intelligence, and other classified environments, the AVS-1124 combines the situational awareness of a multi-viewer with the isolation guarantees of certified secure KVM switching.
Product Description
Operators working across networks of different classification levels traditionally need one monitor per network. The AVS-1124 consolidates four such systems onto one screen — with preset or fully custom window layouts and dual outputs for extended or duplicated displays — while enforcing the data separation that multi-level environments require.

Switching is deliberate by design: the operator moves the mouse across a window border while holding the Ctrl key, a confirmation step that prevents accidental channel changes between classification levels. Each channel's name and security classification appear on the front-panel E-paper display, and channel LED colors can be configured to match classification color codes, reducing operator error.

The security architecture is hardware-enforced. Uni-directional optical diodes keep USB and audio data paths one-way, protecting against data leakage, timing analysis, and forced-malfunction attacks. Video inputs are isolated with separate electronics and power, each computer sees only a dedicated read-only emulated EDID, and monitor EDID/MCCS access is blocked. The keyboard and mouse processor powers down and resets at every switchover so no shared RAM persists between channels, all data buffers are actively cleared after use, and firmware resides in non-reprogrammable ROM that no port can access — if a critical failure is detected, the unit disables itself with clear indication. USB console ports accept HID devices only; storage devices are actively rejected. Holographic anti-tamper labels show whether the enclosure has been opened.

An audio hold function keeps the operator listening to one channel while controlling another, and an RS232 (RJ12) port supports remote control. The fanless metal chassis measures 344 x 44 x 171 mm, draws 30W maximum, and carries a 91,000-hour MTBF with a 2-year warranty. Compatible accessories include the Adder Secure Remote Control Unit (AS-4RCU) and Secure Card Reader (AS-4CR). See the full secure switching range in our Adder Technology collection.
Key Features
- NIAP PP 4.0 Certified, TAA Compliant — Meets the current secure KVM protection profile required for classified and government procurement.
- Quad-View on One 4K Display — Four HD (up to 1920x1200) sources render simultaneously at up to UHD 4K (3840x2160 at 30Hz) output, preserving input quality in tiled layouts.
- Deliberate Ctrl+Mouse Switching — Channel changes require crossing a window border with Ctrl held, preventing accidental switching between classification levels.
- Uni-Directional Data Paths — Optical diodes enforce one-way USB and audio flow, defeating leakage, timing analysis, and forced-malfunction attacks.
- Isolated Video with Read-Only EDID — Separate electronics and power per input, dedicated EDID emulation per computer, and blocked monitor EDID/MCCS access.
- No Shared RAM Between Channels — The KM processor resets at every switchover and data buffers are actively cleared after use.
- Non-Reprogrammable Firmware — ROM-based firmware cannot be modified or accessed from any port; critical failures disable the unit with clear indication.
- Restricted USB and Anti-Tamper Enclosure — Console USB accepts HID only, and holographic labels reveal any attempt to open the chassis.
- Classification-Aware Channel ID — E-paper display shows channel names and classifications; LED colors are configurable to match.
- Audio Hold and RS232 Remote Control — Pin audio to one channel while working on another; serial commands support remote operation.
Typical Applications
- Government spaces where operators access networks of differing classification levels from one desk
- Broadcast studios isolating production networks from internet-connected systems at shared operator positions
- Training rooms for secure-systems instruction across segregated networks

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the AVS-1124 approved for classified environments?
It is NIAP Protection Profile 4.0 certified and TAA compliant. Confirm with your accreditation authority that PP 4.0 secure KVM devices meet your program's requirements.
What source connections does it accept?
Four DVI-D inputs at up to 1920x1200. The console side outputs on two HDMI ports at up to 4K 30Hz, so HD sources remain sharp even tiled four-up.
Can I plug a USB drive into the console ports?
No. The USB ports accept HID devices (keyboard, mouse) only; storage and other device classes are actively prohibited as part of the security design.
How is accidental switching between networks prevented?
Switching requires moving the mouse across a window border while holding Ctrl, and each channel's name and classification appear on the E-paper display with configurable LED colors.
Which accessories work with it?
The Adder Secure Remote Control Unit (AS-4RCU) and Adder Secure Card Reader (AS-4CR) are designed for ADDERView Secure 4-port switches.
What warranty applies?
Adder provides a 2-year warranty. Contact Creation Networks for extended service options and government procurement documentation.
