Product Overview

The Adder AVM-C30-US is a preconfigured 30-port network switch for ADDERView Matrix KVM systems, built on the NETGEAR GSM4230P platform and shipped ready to deploy with a US mains cable. As the backbone of an ADDERView Matrix installation, this KVM matrix network switch arrives configured out of the box for IGMP v2, snooping, and jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes, so installers with limited IT background can bring up a working IP KVM matrix without touching switch settings. With 26 RJ45 ports, 4 SFP slots, and a 300W PoE budget across 24 ports, it powers and connects ADDERView Matrix transmitters and user stations from a single 1U appliance.

Product Description

ADDERView Matrix is Adder's streamlined plug-and-play IP KVM matrix family, designed for organizations that need reliable multi-computer access without dedicated network engineering. The AVM-C30-US removes the most error-prone step of an IP KVM deployment — multicast switch configuration — by delivering a NETGEAR M4250-series switch already set up for the traffic profile that AVM endpoints require.

The port complement combines 26 copper RJ45 connections with 4 SFP cages for fiber uplinks or long-distance endpoint links. Twenty-four of the copper ports supply 802.3af PoE from a 300W internal budget, which means ADDERView Matrix computer access modules and PoE-capable user stations draw power directly from the switch — fewer power supplies, cleaner racks, simpler cable management. Gigabit bandwidth with 10/100 support accommodates the full AVM endpoint range.

Physically, the switch is a 1U rack unit with an internal power supply, standard rack brackets, longer brackets for recessed mounting, and rubber feet for tabletop use — all included. Typical draw is just 36W, rising with PoE load to a 401W maximum. Pair it with ADDERView Matrix C110 transmitters and C1100 user stations, available alongside SFP fiber modules and PoE splitters in the Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • Preconfigured for ADDERView Matrix — Ships with IGMP v2, snooping, and 9216-byte jumbo frames enabled, so the matrix works out of the box with no switch programming.
  • 30-Port Capacity — 26 RJ45 copper ports plus 4 SFP slots connect transmitters, user stations, and fiber uplinks from one 1U chassis.
  • 300W PoE Budget — 24 ports deliver 802.3af power so PoE-capable AVM endpoints run without local power supplies.
  • NETGEAR GSM4230P Platform — Built on NETGEAR's M4250 AV-line switch hardware with an internal power supply.
  • SFP Fiber Expansion — Four SFP cages accept fiber transceivers for links beyond copper's 100-meter reach.
  • Gigabit with 10/100 Support — 1GbE bandwidth with legacy 10/100 compatibility across the copper ports.
  • Complete Mounting Kit — Standard rack brackets, recessed-mount brackets, and tabletop footpads are all included.
  • Efficient Operation — 36W typical consumption keeps running costs and rack heat low.

Typical Applications

  • Government space operations rooms running ADDERView Matrix endpoints
  • Broadcast studio KVM matrix cores connecting playout and edit systems
  • Training room matrices sharing computers among multiple stations
  • Commercial meeting space AV racks distributing computer access
  • Multi-purpose room systems switching sources to several user positions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy the AVM-C30 instead of a standard network switch?
The AVM-C30 arrives preconfigured with the IGMP v2, snooping, and jumbo-frame settings that ADDERView Matrix endpoints require. Other switches meeting Adder's minimum specification can be used, but they must be configured manually.

Which Adder products does it support?
It is designed for the ADDERView Matrix C-Range, including AVM-C110 DisplayPort and HDMI computer access modules and AVM-C1100 user stations.

Can endpoints be powered from the switch?
Yes. Twenty-four ports provide 802.3af PoE from a 300W budget, allowing PoE-capable AVM devices to operate without separate power supplies.

How do I extend links beyond 100 meters?
Fit SFP fiber transceivers (such as Adder SFP-MM-LC multimode up to 550m or SFP-SM-LC single-mode up to 20km) into the four SFP cages for long-distance links.

Is the US power cable included?
Yes. The -US model ships with a country-specific US IEC mains cable, plus rack and tabletop mounting hardware.

Where is the switch firmware documentation?
The underlying hardware is the NETGEAR GSM4230P from the M4250 AV line; NETGEAR publishes the user manual and datasheets, while Adder provides AVM system documentation and API references.
