The Adder ALDV120R is the receiver unit of the AdderLink DV120, a highly compact DVI extender over CATx cable that distributes pixel-perfect digital video up to 50m on a single cable. Paired with the ALDV120T transmitter, this USB-powered DVI receiver lets you locate media playback hardware in a secure, temperature-controlled environment while the remote display shows precisely the content seen on the local monitor. Product Description
The DV120 uses an uncompressed communication system with zero loss of data for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz (WUXGA) at 24-bit color depth, supporting common formats such as 480p, 720p, and 1080p over its DVI-D interface. Video and power share the single CATx link, so the receiver position needs no power outlet of its own.
Energy efficiency is a defining trait: power is harvested from a standard USB socket at the source, and the complete RX/TX pair draws just 2.5W at 5VDC — less than an eighth of the power required by some competing systems, per Adder. The small-form-factor dongle housing (45 x 63 x 21mm injection-molded ABS with 30cm pigtails, 250g per pair) tucks behind displays and inside enclosures.
Deployment is plug and play: DV120 extenders ship in a zero-config state and work as soon as connected, with no drivers or software and compatibility with all known operating systems. EDID management enables the remote system to exactly mirror the data coming from the source monitor. Adder recommends CAT7 shielded foiled twisted pair (Daetwyler 7702 patch / 7120 bulk); 50m is specified over CAT7 or shielded CAT6a on unbroken runs, with 40m achievable across two patch connections.
