Product Overview
The AVPro Edge AC-MXNET-1G-DEX-UV2 is a USB 2.0 over IP extender designed to receive USB data and dynamic signaling transmitted by a matching AC-MXNET-1G-HEX-UV2 host unit across an MXnet 1G V2 network. Built for USB extension over network infrastructure in commercial AV deployments, this device-end endpoint lets integrators route keyboards, mice, touchscreens, and other USB 2.0 peripherals to any point on a PoE-powered Ethernet backbone. It replaces point-to-point USB extension cabling with a scalable AVoIP USB extender architecture that can grow with the system. Typical deployments pair one or more DEX units with HEX-UV2 host extenders inside boardrooms, control rooms, and multi-room AV installations.
Product Description
The AC-MXNET-1G-DEX-UV2 is the device-side half of AVPro Edge's Evolution II USB over IP extension pair, engineered specifically to work with the AC-MXNET-1G-HEX-UV2 host extender. Unlike traditional HDBaseT or USB fiber extenders that only support fixed point-to-point connections, this MXnet USB extension device operates over a standard PoE network switch, allowing any DEX unit to be dynamically routed to any HEX unit through MXnet Mentor software running on the 1G V2 CBOX. This dynamic routing capability makes the unit well suited for command-and-control rooms, medical reading rooms, and shared conference spaces where USB peripherals need to move between multiple host computers. The unit provides dual USB-A and dual USB-C device ports plus a dedicated USB-C service port for firmware and diagnostics. A built-in SFP slot supports fiber transceivers for distance extension up to 10 km, well beyond the 100-meter limit of copper Ethernet. Power over Ethernet eliminates the need for a local power supply at the endpoint, simplifying rack and wall-plate installations. An integrated OLED display shows IP and MAC address information along with a custom device name, which speeds up troubleshooting during commissioning. Because the DEX pairs with any AC-MXNET-1G V2 encoder or decoder in mixed deployments, integrators can add USB-only extension to an existing MXnet 1G V2 video-over-IP system without replacing existing hardware.
Key Features
- USB 2.0 Over IP Extension — Extends full-spectrum USB 2.0 data and dynamic signals over a standard PoE Ethernet network instead of a dedicated point-to-point cable run.
- Dual USB-A and USB-C Device Ports — Provides two USB-A and two USB-C device ports plus a USB-C service port for connecting multiple peripherals at a single endpoint.
- Dynamic Routing via MXnet Mentor — Integrates with MXnet Mentor on the 1G V2 CBOX so any DEX unit can be re-routed to any HEX unit in real time without re-cabling.
- Mixed MXnet V2 Deployment — Pairs with any MXnet 1G V2 encoder or decoder, letting integrators combine USB-only endpoints with AV-over-IP video devices on the same network.
- Fiber-Ready SFP Slot — Supports an SFP fiber transceiver for distance extension up to 10 km beyond the 100-meter copper Ethernet limit.
- Power over Ethernet — PoE (IEEE 802.3af) eliminates the need for a local power supply, simplifying rack, wall-plate, and above-ceiling installations.
- Integrated OLED Display — Shows IP and MAC address with custom device naming for fast identification and troubleshooting during commissioning.
- Fanless Operation — Convection cooling delivers silent, energy-efficient operation suitable for conference rooms and boardrooms.
