Product Overview
The AVPro Edge AC-EDID-X is a compact inline HDMI EDID manager built for AV installers and integrators who need to resolve handshake issues between HDMI sources and displays. This 48Gbps EDID management tool sits between a source and sink to emulate or override EDID data, ensuring a stable handshake and consistent video and audio output across commercial AV systems. Integrators use this inline EDID emulator during system commissioning, troubleshooting, and any installation where mismatched EDID data is causing dropped video or incorrect resolution.
Product Description
The AC-EDID-X supports HDMI signals up to 48 Gbps (FRL 6), giving it enough bandwidth headroom to manage EDID for current 4K and 8K sources without becoming a bottleneck in the signal chain. Sixteen EDID settings are selectable via four onboard DIP switches, including a User Copy mode that reads and stores the EDID from the connected display for exact replication elsewhere in the system. This makes the AC-EDID-X useful both as a permanent EDID management device and as a portable HDMI EDID troubleshooting tool that a technician can carry between job sites. The device supports HDMI 2.1a features including Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Quick Media Switching (QMS), Quick Frame Transport (QFT), and Source Based Tone Mapping (SBTM), so EDID management does not strip out modern display capabilities. Full HDR passthrough is supported, including Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG, along with resolutions up to 8K/60 Hz 4:4:4 and 4K/120 Hz for high frame rate sources. Because it is a passive inline device with a single HDMI input and output, the AC-EDID-X installs directly between a source and display, or between a source and an extender, matrix switch, or distribution amplifier, without requiring any configuration software. This makes it a practical addition to a service technician's toolkit or a permanent fix for a video wall, matrix switcher, or extended AV system that habitually loses handshake with certain sources.
