Why Auracast matters

Auracast is the first assistive listening technology that works with hardware the listener already owns. A visitor with Auracast-capable hearing aids or earbuds joins the broadcast directly, with no receiver to issue, sanitise, charge or lose. For venues currently managing a pool of receivers, that is a meaningful reduction in operational work.

The catch is adoption. Not every hearing aid supports it yet, so an Auracast system today is specified alongside receivers rather than instead of them — the bundled systems include receivers for exactly that reason. Check current accessibility guidance for your jurisdiction before treating it as a standalone compliance solution.
