Specify the table with the AV, not after it

The most common mistake on a conference table order is treating it as furniture. Cable routing, power and data grommet positions, and the cutouts for a table box all have to be decided before the table is built — retrofitting a grommet into a finished top is possible but rarely looks like it was planned.

Table length also drives microphone selection. Beyond a certain span a single table microphone will not hold far-end intelligibility, and the room needs either expansion mics or a ceiling array instead. That is a decision made from the table dimension, so it is worth settling both together.

Sizing by seat count

Arc tables are listed by the number of people they seat, which is the practical way to specify. Allow for the display wall position when choosing shape — an arc puts more seats in direct sightline of the screen than a rectangle of the same footprint, which matters in a video conferencing room where every seat needs to be visible to the camera.
