Frequently Asked Questions — Cable Management
Straight answers on cable retractors, cubby inserts, raceways, covers and organizers for conference rooms, classrooms and AV racks.
What is a cable retractor?
A cable retractor sits under the table and pulls an HDMI, USB-C or network cable back into a table box or cable cubby after use. It keeps tables tidy and stops cables from being lost or damaged.
Raceway, tray or floor cover: which do I need?
Wall raceways hide cable runs on finished walls. Under-table trays hold cables and power below the work surface. Floor cord covers protect cables across walkways where floor boxes are not an option.
How should cables be managed in an AV rack?
Use lacing bars, vertical managers and hook-and-loop ties, separate power from signal cables, and label both ends. Good rack management makes service faster and keeps airflow clear.
Do I need plenum-rated products?
Cables and components in air-handling spaces, such as many drop ceilings, usually must be plenum rated. Check local code and your building requirements.
Which brands do you carry?
Extron, Kramer, C2G, AMX, Biamp, Black Box, Middle Atlantic and others, from cable retractors and cubby inserts to rack accessories.
Can Creation Networks clean up and re-dress existing rooms?
Yes. We re-terminate, label and dress cabling in racks and rooms. Call (888) 230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.
