RMS Enterprise

RMS monitors and manages AV assets across a building or estate — device status, lamp hours, room usage, fault alerting. In an organisation with more than a handful of rooms, it is the difference between finding out a projector failed from the helpdesk ticket and knowing before the meeting starts.

Licensing is by asset count, and the scheduling module is separate. Count the devices you intend to monitor rather than the rooms, since a single room may hold several managed assets. The software maintenance agreement covers version upgrades and is worth including from the start — renewing a lapsed SMA typically costs more than maintaining it.

Touch panel licences

TPControl licences turn a tablet or PC into an AMX control interface. That suits rooms where a dedicated panel is impractical, staff who move between spaces, and BYOD environments. The licence is tied to the device platform — iPad, Android, Windows — so confirm what the users actually carry before ordering.

Specify licences with the hardware

Licences are the line items most often missing from a control system quote, and the ones discovered at commissioning.
