Challenge 1: Modernizing a Legacy Crestron Room for Zoom Integration

Stitch Fix needed their meeting spaces to support dynamic, hybrid workflows where rooms could be used as one large divisible space or split into independent rooms. Key challenges included:

Outdated control systems that did not integrate well with modern Zoom Rooms workflows.

Inconsistent audio quality and microphone performance during hybrid meetings.

Lack of easy room control from owner-furnished devices (iPads, laptops).

Aging Lifsize video conferencing equipment in the IDF closet.

Need for reliable partition sensing when dividing rooms.

Requirement for a future-proof, user-friendly system that non-technical staff could operate confidently.

Rooms Types

  • Huddle rooms
  • Divisible Spaces
  • Training Room
  • All-Hands Space
  • Small / medium conference rooms
  • large conference rooms

THE SOLUTION

Creation Networks performed a comprehensive upgrade including full Crestron system redesign, new hardware deployment, and professional programming. The solution enables effortless toggling between divisible and separate room modes while delivering superior audio, video, and control performance.

Key deliverables:

  • Complete Crestron system redesign and reprogramming for native Zoom Rooms integration.
  • Installation of new Crestron touch panels and partition sensors.
  • Replacement of legacy Lifesize equipment with modern Logitech RoomMate appliances.
  • Audio system optimization for improved microphone clarity and DSP performance.
  • Deployment of Crestron XPanel for remote control via iPad, desktop, or laptop.

These enhancements transformed the legacy conference room into a modern, Zoom-enabled collaboration space, improving user experience and meeting efficiency.

Challenge 2: Automating a 3-Way Divisible Room for Flexible Configurations

A large conference area divided into three sections was entirely manual, with an AV system that was not programmed to accommodate various room layouts and configurations. This limitation hindered the organization's ability to conduct Zoom calls, control cameras, and manage microphones effectively across different room combinations.

THE SOLUTION

To create a flexible and automated environment, the following steps were taken:

System Troubleshooting: The existing AV system was thoroughly assessed to identify and resolve issues preventing seamless operation across different room configurations.

Partition Sensor: The existing AV system was did not automate the control system to allow for the various partitions. We added a Crestron Partition sensor and programming to deliver acompletly automated solution. This allowed for amazing audio and video quality with any configuration.

Custom Programming: The AV system was reprogrammed to support dynamic room combinations, allowing users to divide or combine rooms effortlessly. This programming enabled automatic adjustments of audio and video settings based on the selected room configuration.

Zoom Integration: Zoom Rooms functionality was incorporated into the system, providing users with the ability to conduct video conferences in any room configuration.

Camera and Microphone Control: Users gained the capability to control and switch cameras, as well as manage microphones, through an intuitive interface tailored to the room's current layout.

Labor Investment: The project required 16 hours of technician labor and 16 hours of engineer labor to complete the necessary upgrades and programming.

The result was a versatile, user-friendly conference space that adapts to various meeting needs, enhancing collaboration and productivity

RESULTS

The completed upgrade has dramatically improved the meeting experience at Stitch Fix's San Francisco office:

  • Seamless switching between single large room and divisible modes with automatic partition sensing.
  • Significantly clearer audio and more reliable microphone performance in hybrid Zoom meetings.
  • Intuitive control via touch panels and XPanel, enabling staff to manage rooms quickly and confidently.
  • Modern, stable Zoom Rooms infrastructure with Logitech RoomMate appliances.
  • Reduced technical support calls and higher user satisfaction across teams.

Stitch Fix teams can now focus on creative collaboration rather than troubleshooting technology โ€” a critical advantage in their fast-paced, design-driven environment.
