Its affiliated church and worship spaces serve the school community and parish with daily Masses, student liturgies, special events, and community gatherings. To meet the demands of modern multimedia presentations, clear audio for sermons and music, and reliable system control for staff and volunteers, Notre Dame needed a comprehensive audiovisual upgrade.
Creation Networks was selected to handle the complete audiovisual design, engineering, Q-SYS rogramming, and installation. The project focused on modernizing the sanctuary and multipurpose worship/assembly areas while preserving the historic and sacred character of the space.

CHALLENGE
The existing AV system struggled with several limitations common in older church installations:
- A worn projection screen that delivered inconsistent image quality and limited visibility from various seating angles.
- An aging projector that lacked the brightness and reliability needed for well-lit sanctuaries during daytime services or events.
- Fragmented audio with inconsistent coverage, feedback issues during music ministry, and difficult-to-operate controls.
- No unified control interface, forcing operators to manage multiple remotes and devices—challenging for volunteers and staff with varying technical expertise.

The primary hurdle was creating an intuitive, centralized control system that would simplify operation for non-technical users while delivering professional-grade performance for high-stakes liturgical and educational events
THE SOLUTION
Creation Networks designed and implemented a tailored, future-proof system centered on reliability, ease of use, and seamless integration.
Visual Upgrades
- New Projection Screen: A high-quality, motorized or fixed screen (sized appropriately for the sanctuary) replaced the old surface, providing a smooth, bright viewing area with excellent contrast and wide viewing angles.
- New Epson Projector: A powerful Epson laser or high-lumen model was installed, delivering crisp, vibrant imagery even in challenging lighting conditions. Epson projectors are renowned for their reliability in worship environments, with features like 4K enhancement, high brightness, and low maintenance.
Audio System Overhaul
- QSC Audio Ecosystem: The new system features QSC amplifiers paired with strategically placed speakers for even coverage throughout the sanctuary and adjacent spaces.
- Q-SYS DSP: At the heart of the audio design is a Q-SYS digital signal processor, providing advanced mixing, processing, and routing capabilities. This ensures crystal-clear speech intelligibility for homilies, pristine reproduction for choral and instrumental music, and flexible zoning for different event types.
Unified Control with Q-SYS
- The biggest win came from leveraging Q-SYS as the complete control system. A user-friendly Q-SYS touch panel was installed at key operator locations (e.g., sacristy, sound booth, or stage area).
- Custom programming by Creation Networks allows one-touch presets for common scenarios: Sunday Mass, school assemblies, concerts, livestreaming, or hybrid events. Operators can adjust audio levels, switch sources, control the projector and screen, and manage other AV elements from a single intuitive interface.
This software-based approach integrates audio, video, and control into one scalable platform, reducing complexity and points of failure.
RESULTS
The upgraded system has delivered measurable improvements:
- Enhanced Engagement: Bright, clear visuals and immersive audio help students, parishioners, and visitors connect more deeply with presentations, hymns, and teachings.
