What is the Vizrt VTKB Viz Trio keyboard?
The Vizrt VTKB is a black 144-key USB keyboard with the Vizrt key layout for Viz Trio, Vizrt's real-time 3D character generator. It adds dedicated, color-coded keys for Viz Trio editing, navigation, program and preview actions on top of a standard keyboard. It lets graphics operators run a Viz Trio show largely from the keyboard, which is how Vizrt designed Trio to be operated.
How does the Vizrt VTKB work?
The keyboard connects to the Viz Trio client by USB. Vizrt's documentation describes two extra rows of function keys mapped to Trio actions: green editing keys (position, text, rotate, kern, scale, object, color, effect, image), white navigation keys (design, playout, settings, roll/crawl, page list, editor, import) and red and blue keys for program and preview channels (take, update, swap, clear program, clear preview, save, continue and take out).
A Viz Trio keyboard configuration file builds the key map, and a keyboard mapping file in the Trio client assigns the actions; Vizrt pre-installs this on Viz Trio clients, so in most cases no changes are needed. Operators get one-press Take, Continue and Take Out during live shows instead of mouse hunting.
