What is the Vizrt VCSHDMI Viz Connect Solo HDMI?
The Vizrt VCSHDMI is the Viz Connect Solo HDMI, a bi-directional HDMI to NDI mini converter. It puts a camera, laptop or other HDMI source onto an NDI network, or takes an NDI stream back out to an HDMI display or device. It is a compact, PoE-powered way to bring HDMI equipment into TriCaster and NDI production workflows.
How does the Vizrt VCSHDMI Viz Connect Solo HDMI work?
The Viz Connect Solo HDMI works in either direction. In encode mode it converts the HDMI input to NDI so the source appears on the network for a TriCaster, Viz Connect system or NDI software; in decode mode it receives an NDI stream and outputs HDMI.
Configuration and monitoring happen through a web-based interface, and tally is passed via NDI so presenters and camera operators see on-air status. Audio can be embedded in the HDMI signal or connected through the 3.5mm port.
A single Gigabit Ethernet cable can carry video and power using PoE, or an external DC 5V-18V adapter can be used. The portable enclosure includes a threaded camera mount, so it can sit on a camera, behind a display or on a lectern.
