What is the Vizrt VCS3G Viz Connect Solo 3G?
The Vizrt VCS3G is the Viz Connect Solo 3G, a bi-directional 3G/HD/SD-SDI to NDI mini converter. It puts a camera, laptop or other 3G/HD/SD-SDI source onto an NDI network, or takes an NDI stream back out to a 3G/HD/SD-SDI display or device. It is a compact, PoE-powered way to bring 3G/HD/SD-SDI equipment into TriCaster and NDI production workflows.
How does the Vizrt VCS3G Viz Connect Solo 3G work?
The Viz Connect Solo 3G works in either direction. In encode mode it converts the 3G/HD/SD-SDI input to NDI so the source appears on the network for a TriCaster, Viz Connect system or NDI software; in decode mode it receives an NDI stream and outputs 3G/HD/SD-SDI.
Configuration and monitoring happen through a web-based interface, and tally is passed via NDI so presenters and camera operators see on-air status. Audio can be embedded in the 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal or connected through the 3.5mm port.
A single Gigabit Ethernet cable can carry video and power using PoE, or an external DC 5V-18V adapter can be used. The portable enclosure includes a threaded camera mount, so it can sit on a camera, behind a display or on a lectern.
