Product Overview

The TOA IP-A1PG is a PoE-powered IP paging gateway built for multi-room and multi-zone announcements across commercial AV networks. It converts SIP voice and ONVIF backchannel audio into multicast audio streaming, letting integrators bridge phone systems, IP cameras, and network paging endpoints into a single distributed audio path. As a network paging gateway it can also transmit a built-in message or a connected line/mic source as a multicast stream. Event-driven broadcasting by control input, scheduler, or HTTP API makes it a practical core component for automated commercial paging.

Product Description

The IP-A1PG integrates multiple IP audio devices over a standard PoE network, removing the need for separate amplifier wiring or dedicated paging cabling. A single electronically balanced audio input accepts either line- or mic-level sources, with switchable 12 V phantom power and a -20 dB pad for matching microphones or program audio. The gateway streams audio using PCMU (G.711u), PCMA (G.711a), or G.722 codecs with a minimum 100 ms delay, keeping announcements intelligible across zones. Four no-voltage control inputs let external switches, sensors, or fire-alarm relays trigger pre-recorded internal messages or live audio. A built-in scheduler stores up to 2000 timed actions for bells, chimes, or background-music routing without a connected PC. The unit also provides a balanced monitor output, a mute control input, and an open-collector control output for integration with the wider AV system. Configuration is handled through a standard web browser, so technicians can commission and adjust the system from any networked computer. For larger deployments, pair the IP-A1PG with other TOA IP-A1 network audio endpoints to scale coverage room by room. Key Features

  • Multicast Audio Streaming — Distributes a single announcement to many rooms at once for efficient network-wide paging.
  • SIP and ONVIF Conversion — Converts SIP voice and ONVIF camera backchannel audio into multicast streams for unified communication.
  • Power over Ethernet — Draws just 2.5 W over a single PoE cable, simplifying installation and removing local power supplies.
  • Four Control Inputs — Triggers internal messages or live audio from switches, sensors, or fire-alarm relays for event-based paging.
  • Built-in Scheduler — Stores up to 2000 timed actions for automated bells, chimes, and background-music control.
  • HTTP API and Command Sets — Lets external systems start broadcasts and send multiple HTTP commands simultaneously for automation.
  • Selectable Line/Mic Input — Accepts line or mic sources with phantom power and a -20 dB pad for flexible source matching.
  • Web Browser Configuration — Commission and manage the gateway from any networked PC using Chrome or Edge.

Typical Applications

  • Government spaces and campuses requiring zoned IP paging
  • Houses of worship distributing announcements to multiple rooms
  • Commercial meeting spaces and multi-purpose rooms
  • Auditoriums needing scheduled bells and announcements
  • Training rooms integrated with SIP phone systems
