The TASCAM CA-XLR2d-AN is the analog output variant of the CA-XLR2d XLR microphone adapter, designed to provide two professional XLR/TRS inputs with HDDA preamps and 48V phantom power to virtually any camera brand with a standard 3.5mm microphone input. An included AA battery box and audio cable connect the CA-XLR2d-AN's analog output to the camera's 3.5mm mic input, making it compatible with cameras from Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, and other manufacturers that do not have Canon, Fujifilm, or Nikon digital accessory shoe protocols.

The CA-XLR2d-AN accepts two XLR/TRS combo inputs — each supporting microphone, line, and instrument levels with individual +48V phantom power — plus a 3.5mm stereo mini jack for additional stereo mic or line input. TASCAM HDDA preamps provide high-performance low-noise preamplification for condenser and dynamic microphones. An onboard high-performance AD converter digitizes the audio internally, with the analog output delivered to the camera's microphone input via a 3.5mm cable. Onboard processing includes Auto Level, Low Cut Filter, Limiter, and 1+2 LINK for simultaneous L-R stereo level adjustment. A cold shoe on the top panel accepts additional accessories. Because the CA-XLR2d-AN outputs analog signal (rather than digital via a proprietary camera shoe protocol), it is the broadest-compatibility variant of the CA-XLR2d series.
