Product Overview
The Neumann KK 104 U Cardioid Condenser Capsule (Nickel) — SKU 008720 — is a premium wireless capsule head engineered for third-party handheld transmitters with a Shure-compatible interface. Based on the same KMS 104 condenser element as the 5000 Series KK 104 S, it delivers true Neumann studio-grade cardioid sound to integrators and engineers who prefer Shure wireless transmitter platforms. The cardioid polar pattern provides excellent rear rejection, outstanding feedback resistance, and extended 80 Hz–20 kHz frequency response suited for professional live vocal, broadcast, and presentation applications.
Product Description
The KK 104 U capsule head extends Neumann’s wireless condenser capsule program to third-party handheld transmitters equipped with a Shure interface. While the KK 104 S is designed for Sennheiser SKM 5000/5200 transmitters, the KK 104 U uses the same precision condenser element and cardioid polar pattern, adapted to fit Shure-compatible transmitter bodies. The capsule offers enormous SPL capability rated at 148–150 dB (THD 0.5%), integrated foam pop protection with expanded-pore moisture resistance, and low susceptibility to handling noise — the same attributes that made the KMS 104 a reference standard for professional stage vocal applications. Uniform polar response across the full frequency range supports reliable off-axis rejection at all frequencies, directly impacting system gain before feedback in multi-channel live and broadcast environments. The nickel finish suits nickel-color Shure transmitter bodies. Includes a large nylon carry bag for transport.
Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will this capsule fit Sennheiser SKM 5200 or SKM 2000 transmitters?
- No. The KK 104 U uses a Shure-compatible interface and is designed for third-party transmitters only. For Sennheiser 5000 Series transmitters, use the KK 104 S (SKU 008534). For Sennheiser 2000/6000/9000 Series, use the KK 204 (SKU 008651).
- What is the sonic difference between the KK 104 U (cardioid) and KK 105 U (supercardioid)?
- The KK 104 U cardioid has a wider front acceptance angle for vocalists with dynamic movement. The KK 105 U supercardioid offers tighter directionality and higher feedback rejection for louder or denser multi-channel stage environments.
