Product Overview

The Salamander Miami 237 is a deep-format UST projector cabinet for an integrated Epson LS500 ultra short throw projector, finished in Gloss Warm White. The high-gloss lacquer finish is specified for bright, contemporary interiors where a wood-veneer credenza would read as heavy. Its 34-inch depth accepts full-depth rack equipment that a standard AV credenza cannot house. This is the light-finish option in the 237 deep family.

Product Description

Finish selection in a UST cabinet is not cosmetic trim — it determines whether the cabinet disappears into the room or fights it. Gloss Warm White suits white-walled corporate interiors, healthcare environments, and modern architectural spaces where dark veneer would dominate. The lacquer surface also cleans more readily than open-pore veneer, which matters in high-traffic and shared rooms.

Functionally this variant is identical to the rest of the 237 deep line. The Epson LS500 mounts at a factory-fixed offset so ultra short throw geometry is set by the cabinet rather than by field alignment, and the 34-inch depth gives the integrator room for full-depth rack gear behind the same doors. Cable management runs internally between the projector compartment and the equipment bays, and interior access is preserved for service without disturbing projector alignment.

Key Features

  • Gloss Warm White Lacquer — A light, contemporary finish for bright interiors where wood veneer would read as heavy.
  • 34-Inch Cabinet Depth — Houses full-depth rack equipment that will not fit a standard AV credenza.
  • Epson LS500 Integration — Factory-fixed projector offset removes field alignment of UST optics.
  • Cleanable Surface — Lacquer wipes down more readily than open-pore veneer in shared and high-traffic rooms.
  • Combined Projector and Rack Enclosure — One cabinet carries the projection system and the equipment rack.
  • Internal Cable Management — Cabling routes inside the chassis between projector and equipment.
  • Serviceable Interior — Equipment access without disturbing the projector position.

  • Conference room
  • Boardroom and executive briefing center

Competitor Comparison

Three products get specified for the same brief and solve it differently. Competitor prices are list figures at time of writing and change.

Criterion Salamander X3/EPS2/237S (this cabinet) Vividstorm Barcelona Mark III (VC22BC130B) Middle Atlantic C5-FF27
Projector integration Machined at the factory for one named projector, so throw geometry is fixed by the cabinet and never commissioned on site. Universal UST bay matched to a published projector list including Formovie Theater and the Hisense PX series; position is set during installation. No projector accommodation. It is a rack credenza frame, not a projection cabinet.
Equipment capacity 34 in chassis depth accepts full-depth rack equipment behind the same doors as the projector. Compartments are sized for consumer AV components; Vividstorm publishes no 19 in rack rail specification for this cabinet. Purpose-built 19 in rack credenza — the strongest of the three for rack density.
Screen Not included. Pairs with a separately specified fixed-frame or tensioned ALR screen. Motorized ALR screen rises from the cabinet, so screen and cabinet are a single purchase. Not included.
Finish Commercial veneer and lacquer options across the line: Chicago textured Black Oak, Miami Gloss Warm White, Siena Medium Walnut, Oslo Black Glass. Residential-oriented finishes, generally black or white. Ships as a frame; veneer or laminate is field-applied to match existing room millwork.
Market fit Commercial — boardrooms, briefing centers, government and higher education. Residential and prosumer home theater. Commercial AV, but as a rack enclosure rather than a projection cabinet.
Delivered state Arrives assembled and finished; the projector drops into a prepared opening. Arrives assembled with the screen mechanism installed. Frame only — doors, tops, rack rails and finish are specified and added separately.
Indicative price $4,199 $3,649 $1,922.40, frame only, before doors, top, rails and finish

How to choose: specify the Salamander cabinet when the room is commercial, the projector model is already decided, and the same enclosure has to carry rack equipment. The Vividstorm suits a residential install that wants the screen bundled. The Middle Atlantic C5-FF27 is the right answer when rack density matters more than projection and the finish will be matched to existing millwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Miami finish differ from Chicago and Siena?

Finish is the only difference. Miami is Gloss Warm White lacquer, Chicago is grass-texture Black Oak, and Siena is Medium Walnut. All three share the same 237 deep chassis, Epson LS500 integration, and internal configuration, so the choice is driven by the room rather than by function.

Is the projector included?

No. The cabinet ships with the projector cutout and mounting prepared at the factory; the Epson LS500 is purchased separately and installed into it. This preserves the fixed optical geometry that makes the cabinet worth specifying.

Will the gloss finish show fingerprints in a shared room?

Gloss lacquer shows marks more readily than textured veneer but also cleans more easily, with no open grain to trap residue. For heavy-traffic rooms where handling is constant, the Chicago textured finish hides contact better.

Can I add cooling and rack hardware?

Yes. Active cooling panels, rack mount brackets, lacing bars, and power distribution are factory-installed options specified with the order. See the Salamander Designs collection or contact our team to configure.
