Product Overview
The Salamander SA/RM1U is a set of two factory-installed rack mount brackets providing 1U of rack space inside a Salamander AV cabinet. The brackets convert cabinet interior space into a standard 19 in rack position without a separate rack frame.
Product Description
Most small-room equipment lists contain one or two rack-format devices — a power distribution unit, a network switch, a single-rack-unit codec — alongside several non-rack appliances. Installing a full rack frame for that is disproportionate, and leaving the device loose on a shelf wastes the mounting ears it already has. A bracket set gives those devices a proper rack position using the cabinet's own structure.
Brackets are factory-installed, so the cabinet's extrusion frame is drilled and reinforced during manufacture rather than field-modified. Sets are available in 1U, 2U, 3U, and 4U heights, and multiple sets can be specified for cabinets carrying several rack devices.
