What is the RDL TX-J3?
The RDL TX-J3 is a passive input module that mixes two unbalanced line-level sources into a balanced mono output. It brings consumer-format audio from dual RCA jacks or a mini-jack into a professional balanced system.
How does it work?
The TX-J3 front panel features two gold-plated RCA jacks and a mini-jack input for mono or stereo consumer-level sources; plugging in the mini-jack disables the RCA inputs. Inputs 1 and 2 are combined and balanced through audio transformers configured to reject induced hum. The output is on a detachable terminal block (+, -, ground) for connection to inputs of 10 kΩ or higher, with response of 30 Hz to 20 kHz (±1 dB). Because it is passive and adds no gain, its balanced output is not a standard +4 dBu level. It mounts with RDL TX-series hardware such as the RDL TX-RA5 rack adapter, the RDL TX-RRB1 rear rail kit or the RDL DRA-35T DIN rail adapter.
