What is the RDL ST-GLA1?
The RDL ST-GLA1 is a self-gated line-level amplifier that automatically switches a line signal on and off to suppress unwanted noise. It works alone as a noise gate or with other RDL modules to build automatic mixing systems.
How does it work?
The ST-GLA1 opens when the input signal exceeds an adjustable threshold, switching in 10 ms with a nominal 2-second off delay that can be extended with an external capacitor. Gain and threshold are adjustable, and two LED indicators assist setup. The input (500 Ω balanced or 5 kΩ unbalanced) and the +4 dBu, 150 Ω balanced output may be wired balanced or unbalanced. An open-collector slave output rated at 50 mA can trigger other equipment or RDL modules. The module requires ground-referenced 24 Vdc at 75 mA, such as from the RDL PS-24AX.
