What is the RDL SF-DN4?
The RDL SF-DN4 is a SYSFLEX digital audio interface that converts two stereo digital sources to four Dante network channels. It accepts AES/EBU and coaxial or optical S/PDIF, keeping the audio in the digital domain all the way to the Dante network. PoE power and no-software setup make it simple to bring digital sources such as players, receivers and consoles into a Dante system.
How does it work?
The SF-DN4 automatically detects a valid input on its S/PDIF optical, S/PDIF coaxial or AES/EBU XLR jacks. The input is decoded, re-clocked and transmitted to the Dante network. Input sample rates from 32 kHz to 192 kHz are supported, and Dante output rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz are selectable. The AES/EBU input is transformer isolated. A yellow LOCK LED confirms a valid source received without lock errors. No special software is required to configure the module. The SF-DN4 runs from PoE (Class 0, IEEE 802.3af), and a green LED confirms valid power and Dante sync. The all-metal enclosure is suited to free-standing, surface or rack mounting, and the SF-UCB2 under-counter bracket pair supports under-counter installation.
