What is the RDL FP-VDA4?
The RDL FP-VDA4 is a 1x4 NTSC/PAL composite video distribution amplifier with BNC connections and a loop-through output. Bandwidth is flat to 10 MHz, and gain is adjustable from unity to +6 dB from the top panel. The compact FLAT-PAK chassis powers from 24 Vdc and can pass power to additional FLAT-PAK modules.
How does it work?
The FP-VDA4 bridges a 75 Ω video line with a 1 kΩ input, so the source can loop through to another device. One input BNC accepts the signal and a second LOOP OUT jack passes the source on. If the input needs 75 Ω termination, the provided terminator plugs onto the LOOP OUT jack. Four source-terminated outputs deliver 1 V p-p into 75 Ω, and unused outputs need not be terminated. Frequency response is 10 Hz to 10 MHz within ±0.2 dB, with output isolation above 45 dB. A top-panel GAIN potentiometer sets gain from unity to +6 dB. Power is 24 Vdc at 60 mA through a barrier block or dc jack, and a second jack on the other end feeds more FLAT-PAK modules. For rack installation, use RDL FLAT-PAK accessories such as the RDL FP-HRA or RDL FP-RRA.
