RDL FP-TPS4A – Format-A Two-Pair Audio Sender for Guest Rooms
What is the RDL FP-TPS4A?
The RDL FP-TPS4A is a Format-A two-pair audio sender that takes the fixed audio output of a hospitality TV and distributes it over twisted pair cable. It is suited to guest room installations with bedside and restroom listening stations.
How does it work?
The input accepts either an unbalanced stereo line signal or a 1 to 3 W mono amplified signal from the TV. Left and right sources are sent on pairs B and C, and a mono amplified signal feeds both pairs. The audio is distributed to two RJ45 Format-A outputs to feed multiple RDL Format-A receivers. A separately available 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24AX 24 Vdc power supply powers the sender and the connected receivers, so receivers do not need their own supplies. The distributed dc voltage is protected by an automatically resetting fuse, and a blue LED goes out if a power fault occurs on either output.
What are the key features?
- TV audio input — The sender accepts unbalanced stereo line audio or a mono amplified speaker-level signal from a hospitality TV.
- Two Format-A outputs — Two RJ45 jacks distribute the audio to multiple Format-A receivers in the room.
- Powers connected receivers — One 24 Vdc supply at the sender powers all connected receivers over the cable.
- Resetting fuse protection — The distributed output voltage is short-circuit protected by an automatically resetting fuse.
- Compact metal housing — The ultra-compact all-metal enclosure is normally mounted behind the TV where AC power is available.
