RDL DS-SH1M – Decora Stereo Headphone Amp, Mini-Jack, Stainless
What is the RDL DS-SH1M?
The RDL DS-SH1M is a Decora-style stereo headphone amplifier with a mini-jack output and front-panel level control. It drives headphones of any impedance from consumer or professional sources for language translation, museums, interview studios and music stores.
How does it work?
The DS-SH1M is a dual-channel amplifier with balanced or unbalanced left and right inputs that accept levels between -20 dBV and +20 dBu. Recessed slide switches on the rear enclosure set input sensitivity and choose stereo or mono, with the left input feeding both channels in mono. The front-panel level control is a long-life potentiometer controlling matched VCAs, and headphones connect to a mini-jack. The DS-SH1M uses a stainless steel faceplate to coordinate with RDL stainless Decora-style controls in commercial and industrial spaces. RDL lists the RDL WB-1U wall box among its mounting accessories.
What are the key features?
- Mini-jack output — Headphones plug into a front-panel mini-jack.
- VCA level control — A long-life potentiometer controls matched VCAs for clean level adjustment.
- Balanced or unbalanced inputs — Left and right inputs accept -20 dBV to +20 dBu operating levels.
- Selectable sensitivity and mode — Rear switches set input sensitivity and stereo or mono (left) operation.
- Any-impedance headphone drive — The amplifier drives high or low impedance headsets.
