What is the RDL DS-NMC1?
The RDL DS-NMC1 is a pushbutton Dante network remote control with a full-color LCD screen that provides source selection and volume control at one or more locations. With a stainless steel finish, it sets or clears Dante routings for up to eight sources and adjusts levels individually or as a group. Each unit operates as a Controller or Satellite, so up to eight remotes can work together in larger rooms and divisible spaces.
How does it work?
The DS-NMC1 connects to a network that can include compatible RDL audio and control modules as well as Dante devices from RDL and other manufacturers. Selecting a source on the menu commands a receiver to take a particular Dante channel and routes that channel from any Dante device on the network. Each selection can also set the source gain, route it to multiple amplifiers and set the operating level to each amplifier, with up to eight routing settings per source, including an option to clear existing routings. Volume can adjust a group of Dante flows together or each signal separately, and level offsets are preserved when the group level changes. A dedicated button provides mute with on-screen indication. As a Controller, it arbitrates requests from Satellite units and sends single commands to the controlled devices. Setup is done in a browser session hosted by the remote, where installers enable menus, rename functions and choose screen themes. Each function can auto-lock after 30 seconds of inactivity. The unit is PoE powered and mounts in a standard US electrical box with the RDL CP-1S stainless cover plate or a WB-1U universal wall box.
