The RC4-UNI addresses installations where the AV integrator or systems designer needs a single camera extension kit compatible across a wide range of Visca-controlled PTZ cameras. Supported cameras include the AVer CAM520 Pro Advanced, Angekis Saber Plus, Lumens VC-A51P/VC-A52S/VC-A50PN/VC-A50P/VC-A70H/VC-A71PN/VC-A71P/VC-A61P/VC-TA50, Marshall CV620/CV630/CV730, Minrray UV401A/UV540-05/10-HDMI, PTZOptics PT12X-SDI/PT20X-SDI/PT30X-SDI/PT12X-USB/PT20X-USB, Sony SRG-120DH/SRG-300H, and VDO360 Saber20X NDI. The system carries HDMI video, 8-pin Mini-DIN Visca loop RS-232 control, and 12V DC power over a single CAT cable. How does the RC4-UNI differ from the RC4-USM?
The RC4-UNI and RC4-USM are both multi-manufacturer kits, but they include different cable sets targeting different camera control interfaces. The RC4-UNI includes 8-pin Mini-DIN Visca loop cables commonly used by Lumens, Marshall, PTZOptics, and Sony cameras. The RC4-USM includes cables for cameras using a different power and control pin configuration. Check the compatibility list for each SKU before ordering.
Can the RC4-UNI be used with cameras not on the supported list?
The RC4-UNI may work with other HDMI PTZ cameras that use 8-pin Mini-DIN RS-232 Visca control and 12V DC power, but only the cameras listed in the compatibility guide are tested and supported. Contact Creation Networks before ordering for cameras not on the list.
Is the CAT cable included?
No. The CAT cable between the RC4-CE and RC4-HE modules must be supplied by the installer. CAT5e or better is recommended; maximum run is 100 meters without patching.
